IWC big pilot.
IWC Portuguese 500106 - 7 day power reserve, white gold case, ardoise dial - one day...
Omega Speedmaster in precious metal.

That's a little over budget, but on a leather strap is easily within.

You could search for a bracelet with £3k.

Ulysse Nardin Freak, El Toro or Sonata.
Probably a freak.... or an El Toro.

Saxonia thin or a VC fiftysix day date.
Add me to the BP FF list.
I would also look at the IWC Portuguese in a precious metal. I also have two Rolex itches to scratch but that’s another story.
Actually, probably this:

One of: Ulysse Freak, Roger Dubuis Excalibur in blue or silver, Piaget Polo S, Ming 19.02, All three Minase models, Zenith Chronomaster Revival shadow (and get £100 for a lovely bottle of champers to celebrate getting it). Always different, me.

I'd buy that lovely Blancpain Air Command on SC.

Tin tin. (might have some change)
And the beauty is nobody except wis will know what it is!!
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
I would like to get a blue dialed Panerai but I also like this a brand not talked about much here.
Jaquet-Droz_Grande-Seconde-Off-Centered-Chronograph_
If it had to all go on one watch I'd enjoy looking at options from Blancpain, VC, ALS and AP. I've never seriously considered any of these brands as they are out of my price comfort zone (over £10k).

It would be a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms for me, I think.
A standard stainless steel, black dialed, 3 hander one would do me nicely (while the chronos and blue are very nice, I'd take the classic look).
I can't see me ever spending that much on a watch though, to be honest, I'll never be rich enough!

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
If retail, then gmt pepsi on jubilee. If Grey mkt, then 16710 Coke bezel.

would need to be a house/brand I don't already have; so a BP FF, VC Overseas, Breguet XX or something AP. Have looked at them all many times and then something else has come up or timing been wrong.
could do with a sort of the collection as really should have these in their already; might be time for a clear out, or at least stop buying Rolex!
At the minute, this would be my choice

A few folks struggling with the 'it cannot be a Rolex' part of the brief
Keep looking at Zenith offerings at moment. The ceramic defy skeleton with carbon strap..
Lots of great watches mentioned, from brief scan looks like BP FF is definitely a forum favourite at this range. I started this thread to gather opinions on Rolex sports alternatives which sits in 7-15k range. At prices below this range there are plenty of watches I like and at higher prices choices there are also abundant choices, but sometimes it’s hard to look pass Rolex sports at 7-15k. I have a few Rolex in this range, and whilst I really like them and it’s hard to go wrong with these, I think I will look to add diversification at some point through trades.
I also like BP FF and the Villeret range, panerai is a brand I would like to try at some point, big fan of the pam795. I also like some random vintage watches like the GP Olimpico below, dealer ask eye watering 7.2k.
My second attempt

even at retail within budget. Could probably be had at discount.

My first shot was at the top end of the scale. At the lower end deffo look at a good Blancpain fifty fathoms, well do-able at 7k.

I’d probably be looking at the best AP royal offshore diver on a steel bracelet I could get with my 15k either vintage or modern
That is really nice. JLC is a good suggestion. I'd also say look for an AMVOX 2 - nifty chronograph and I think can be had in platinum for under £15k. A good overview of AMVOX here - https://quillandpad.com/2018/02/23/c...-line-archive/
Would find it hard to look past this
Beautiful, simple, understated gold dress watch.
I also really like this
Kash’s AirCommand
Though it is a bit bigger than the previous LEs : Barakuda and Tribute to Milspec so it would depend how it wears at 42mm.

Delightful watches them Hentschel
Sticking with the Indie theme, what about this Kudoke? https://quillandpad.com/2020/07/06/k...ational-value/
I'd go for a VC overseas 4500v, can probably get it grey for 15k. Comes with 2 additional choices which makes it suitable for pretty much any situation

Tricky amount of money, if Rolex are off the table. I like simple sports watches, and not those watches from Patek, VC,and AP that claim to be such...
So the IWC Big Pilot then
On the dressy side, GO Panoreserve, Lange Saxonia, or VC Traditionelle if within budget

Oh, boy. Lots of great sport watch choices out there which aren't called Rolex.
I'd get either of these beauts which, fortunately, tend to sell below retail:
Bulgari Octo Finissimo GMT Chrono - £15600
Grand Seiko SBGA405 Gojira 650-pc LE - £11250
the simple answer is Rolex, anytime for me
I'd go custom and get something like the Dornblueth 99.10 Weltzeit Auf & Ab for around 11k Euro
https://www.dornblueth.com/ref.99.10auf-ab-en
A. Lange & Söhne Men's 211.026 Saxonia Thin in white gold
Or Breguet Classique Automatic 40mm 7147

Stick to AMVOX 2 - they’re the best with the nifty use of the crystal for chronograph activation. Also I think in DLC and titanium. Amazing watches, so unique and I think no one has really attempted that again.
The AMVOX is definitely on my hit list...
