Issued watches - let's see 'em

    1979 army-issued W10... I'm actually a bit in love with it (shhh...).

Let's see some more issued watches please!

Properly cool. Issued watch actually worn by someone who served.

Was that your watch during your time in the army?

Boccia Bund - issued in less than 400 pieces in 2005 and 2007 to the KSK Special Forces of Germany operating in Afghanistan.

No, I was never issued one. Truth is, most people never get one, you have to ask and I didn't bother.

Issued watches - let's see 'em

Whilst not technically military issued, this CWC was issued to the BBC in the early 80’s

    ‘95 CWC diver

    ‘84 Precista

    ‘82 Precista

    ‘81 CWC Navigator

I’ve also a ‘80 Fatboy somewhere but no pic at the moment.

    Previously had a ‘95 RM G10, a second ‘80 Fatboy and a ‘99 Pulsar G10

Thank you. She’s a 12 year old Airedale. The picture makes her look a lot smaller.

I was going to ask the same. Don’t see too many Airedales nowadays, which is a real shame. They’re magnificent hounds.

They are a great family dog, very hardy thank goodness as we don’t bother with pet insurance. Just regular hair salon appointments! Thank you.

I only have one issued watch, this 1953 Omega CK2777 fat arrow.

Lovely wearable size, accurate to 4s a day and just a beautiful watch.

Certainly a beautiful watch and a nice one to have if you only have one.

Every time I see one of the original Dirty Dozen watches I just stop and stare, they are that special. By far my favorite military/field watch design.

This is issued, one of only 30 or so.

The ZUZ unit has a lot to answer for, being the best horologically-equipped unit ever.
The EZM1 was designed for them in 1997, and issued to them in very small numbers prior to civilian versions being released.
Not content with that, at the same time they approoached Tutima and got them to make these Commandos especially for them, adding (like the EZM1) a bi-directional bezel to the spediciation of a normal Commando II.
And 10 years later they were deemed to have reached the end of their service life and auctioned off.
Which is where I got mine.

    Dave

Heuer 510.503. This was issued to me, in the Army, circa 1980. Only 10 of us had them as far as I recall. Still going strong. A wonderful watch.

Now that’s a rare one are there any issue markings on the case back?

I've posted these previously on the forums but here goes.

Seiko RAF Issue Gen 1. Issued to me in 1988 when I started Advanced Flying Training with the RAF. This has quite a bit of sentimental value and from issue to 2001 went on many operations before my career went a somewhat different way.

Seiko RAF Issue Gen 2. Issued to me when the above watch (and my ID card and passport) failed to follow me home after I was medivac'd out of Kosovo. We were reunited about 6 months later - God only knows where they went in the interim!

No issue markings. I recall they were funded by the Foreign Office. Issued to an embassy security team overseas. Rare good taste from the FO!

This one from 1985 doesn’t look like it’s seen much active service.

Mostly a bit modern for my liking.

WWII, when they used to issue good watches.

The markings were sanded off of this Longines but you can still see the remnants in the right light.

Last but not least this Omega.

No markings but original aluminium case so supplied to the military.

    Movement dates from 1939 -44.

The funny thing is I don't really have any interest in military watches as they all look a bit dull to me but these are some bits I have come across over the years.

    I've sold a lot more!
    Cheers,
    Neil.
