Plus 1 hope he pulls through. One of England’s most prolific goal scorers and was desperately unlucky to miss out in 66
Praying for a quick recovery for the greatest ever goalscorer we've seen in this country.
Not my era but I've read so much, watched so much and met him a few times too.
A legend. Fingers crossed.

Best wishes to Jimmy.
He was the best goal poacher ever and his programme, Saint and Greavesie was hilarious.
Still can’t believe he missed 66. Get well soon Jimmy
A true English swashbuckling goal poacher they don’t make them like that any more, get well soon!

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
If I remember correctly wasn’t he really good at long throwing from the side line??
Sorry...documentary is called Greavsie. Bad link above!
Had the pleasure of being in Jimmy's company loads of times over the last 20 years.
True hero for me, always had time to given you 10 mins and loved a good old story.
The best all time English goal scorer for me. Get well jimmy.
Football legend.
Get well soon Greavsie.
Cheers,
Neil.
A proper (Chelsea) Legend.
Best Wishes Jimmy.
Was in awe of JG as a 10 year old watching him in the Worcester Ave part of the old White Hart Lane ground.
The adults would make way and let the kids down to the front up against the white iron railings.
44 goals in 57 England matches speaks volumes.
But moreso when in the playground, swapping the football cards , his card was the most coveted.
One of his transfers was £999,999 because he didn't want to be the first £100K footballer.
He was, along with other squad members, belatedly awarded his '66 winners medal.
I was 9 years old when I watched my first FA cup final on TV with my dad in 1967, Spurs vs Chelsea
My dad said WE wanted Spurs to win because even though he supported PNE and I'd starting supporting Utd, he was a big fan of Jimmy Greaves and didn't like Tommy Docherty.
The year before when the world cup final was on our teacher pointed to us individually and told us who we were in the England squad and I was Jimmy Greaves.
get well soon jimmy
Best wishes Jimmy from a supporter of THFC and you since 1961.

Get well soon Jimmy. First saw Greavesie play for Chelsea in 1957 and 1958 when 'I were a little lad' and attended Stamford Bridge matches with my father. My father always left me at the front of the stand behind the goal so I could see the match properly and shout my head off cheering Greavesie … whilst dad stood atop the stand at the back. In those days Greavesie was well known for wearing the same old fashioned football boots he'd first worn as a very successful Chelsea youth team player. His 'lucky boots' were falling apart and frequently repaired ... but they helped Greavesie score goals. By 1961 he was sponsoring continental style Lawrence boots originally designed by Matt Busby for Tom Finney

"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"
Jimmy Greaves leaves hospital to recover at home.
At last some good news - hopefully he will get better soon & didn't catch anything nasty in hospital.
Norman Hunter not so lucky.
RIP Norman.
RIP Norman.
Another football hero from a bygone era leave us - there's going to be a lot of black armbands worn when football finally starts up again.
