    1969 taking someone back

My brother's 50th is coming up and whilst there is big gift in the offing i've been thinking of buying something extra that reflects 1969. Budget won't stretch to a Speedmaster, vintage or otherwise, so i'm been trying to come up with an item i can post and that is usefully prosaic but evocative. One the blue Seiko recraft turtles is my current thinking, but i can't help thinking that there are better ideas for around £150. It doesn't have to be a watch, it doesn't have to be new, but it does have to be useable rather than an ornament.

Stick it in a nice frame and it'll look great. :)

I’m not sure how authentic they are on the ‘bay but maybe one of the presents could be a newspaper from 1969 of the moon landing?

I first watched it in the late ‘70s, in teens. Utterly brilliant. We had Mr. Talbot, identical right down to the jersey tracksuit with the badges.

Fisher AG7 spacepen - the same as the Apollo astronauts had. They do some different special editions with engravings too.

You’re welcome mate, HTH. They’re really nice pens and a really cool link to the Apollo missions.

Legend has it that NASA spent millions of dollars over years developing the space pen.

    The Russians used pencils.
