They state that the case is unpolished, but to my (not particularly educated) eye this doesn’t appear to be true. The bevels look too broad. What do you think?

The top right springbar is quite close to peeking out. Otherwise hard to tell, it might just be wear and tear. Its very likely its seen some kind of polishing during its lifetime.

Bevels are broad the usual Bexley bevel is a lot more focused on the end tip of lug
Yes it’s had a polish but most have at 45+
Dial a nice pumpkin shade
Chip at 57 is more a problem than case imho

Top crown guard looks like it’s had a polish or two over the years but as stated what watch that’s touching 50yrs old hasn’t...I agree that the dial chip is more of a concern. Still quite a nice vintage watch though.
It has period correct bevels but perhaps has had the lightest of polishes before, perhaps not. Would want a mint dial for that money though.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s original, looks to me like every day wear/polishing from rubbing during wear over (possibly) the original finish or at least one done many years ago!
The profile of the top righthand lug down to the upper crown guard does not look right to me. I would say that the watch has been polished at some stage of its life, although likely to have been some time ago judging by the apparent "sleeve wear".
This is quite common and not necessarily a case of over polishing. Just another case of the wonderful world of vintage Rolex.Originally Posted by gmt 16750
