    Unchanged Since 1957...?

    Hi,

just returned from a shopping trip and collected the latest Goldsmiths catalogue along the way. Inside there is a full page advert for the Omega Speedmaster Anniversary limited edition watch. Within the advertising blurb is contained the phrase 'Unchanged since 1957 the Speedmaster continues...'. As far as I know, the dial, movement, case and bracelet are all different from the 1957 model; perhaps the Hesalite crystal is the same? This is obviously some new definition of the word 'unchanged' that I haven't come across before.

Is this a Goldsmiths saying or is from Omega themselfs?

    Hi Ben,

It is a full-page Omega advert inside a Goldsmiths brochure. The brochure also feature the same watch on the cover.

Moreover Omega still claims in official press information that the Speedmaster was also the watch worn by the first man in space outside a space vehicle ("space walk"). But the first man outside a space vehicle wasn't an astronaut but the cosmonaut Nicolai Leonov - wearing a Strela chronograph. I'm in doubt Omega does not know this fact ... but who cares ... ?!
