    Heuer vintage

So I have placed a wtb for a heuer vintage and had some replies, and sourced some watches myself.

I know condition etc is a big thing, but what would be the consensus of where best to put my £?

    A very nice camaro 7743
    A very nice Carrera 110.573 f
And a lovely black Heuer Ref 12

Obviously the first two are more expensive, but which do you think going forward will be the best to put £ into?

I really want a 60s heuer and the camaro seems the easiest way in - but I feel the Carrera would be more popular?

Have you tried any of them on? I had a Camaro for a while and was disappointed by its size. For me the classic entry level Heuer is the Autavia 1163V, and it's actually my favourite automatic Autavia too. 42mm wide, comfortable to wear, not too tall, perfect proportions.

Very valid point, unfortunately I haven’t - and won’t really have the opportunity to - based in ni and vintage heuer are thin on the ground here

Have you had a good look through here to check sizes?

I think the Camaro was one of the later Heuer's to accelerate in price and possibly has more headroom left than some of the others. I had one 10 or so years ago and think they wear really nicely as they are perfectly proportioned. It is all totally subjective though. The only answer is to get them on the wrist....

Take a look at the Carrera re-editions from the late 90s.

I’ve not had any of the models stated but I’d try an autavia which has already been stated or an 844 .
If you find your not too keen you’ll probably not take too much of an hit on them

Very good call on the Carrera reissues, they're very nice watches with a good movement.

OP - how big is your wrist? Mine's 7 1/2" and the 42mm Autavia is perfect. I found the Camaro too small at 37mm (and, unfortunately, too bland and an odd shape). The Carrera I can just about pull off.

although looking at it now a huge difference

the camaro being 37mm, the carrera i am looking at (a Reference 110.573F Carrera) is 40mm, so not a lot in it

The 110.573 is 38mm and has a relatively high profile. Depending how big you want to go i would also look at the Cal.12 Montreal’s.
They are larger than your own 3 suggestions and have a lot of “bang for your buck” qualities.
    Good luck - Darren
