What about:
Longines hydroconquest
Longines Legend diver
Oris Aquis
Hi All,
I have developed this itch that needs scratching (you all know what I mean lol) anyway I am looking to purchase the first new watch of 2019.
The criteria I am look for is as follows,
Diver style
New (although I don’t mind pre owned as long as it’s from a reputable seller)
40-42 case size
Sub £1500
Auto
Something I can put on and not worry to much about......
I originally posted on here a couple of weeks ago asking questions/advice about the Christopher Ward trident diver, but I have decided against that as it just wasn’t right.
I have been looking at the Oris diver 65 which seems to fit the criteria but not 100% convinced. (I’m not fussy honest lol)
The current watches in my small collection are as follows.
Speedy pro
Tudor Gmt
Black bay 36
Any advise will be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
L

You would get a decent Steinhart for a third of your budget.
Stowa Prodiver or Seatime.
______
Jim.
Something from Sinn or one of the smaller German companies?
U1?
I really like the Oris 65 though.
You'd be doing very well to get a BB GMT for 1500. The 36 is a lovely watch but I wouldn't class it as a diver.
After reading your initial requirements my mind went to the c60 but you've already discounted that so what about a Seiko?
Oris aquis
Rado captain cook
Sinn 104 (id be looking no further than Sinn at this price)
A bit more off the wall, look at...
Helson
Zelios
D Hodge
Armida
H20
I would go for a Seamaster

Get the Oris. They're brilliant. Fantastic bracelet, they wear brilliantly. With that size range the whole range will work for you.
I really like the new bronze bezel 40mm version.
Oris is probably your best bet. The new Certina DS Ph200m is great also.

There’s an eterna kontiki diver going in sales corner obscenely cheap at the moment if you have access.

For that price point, new, I would look at the Oris Aquis:

CWC RN Diver Auto would go nicely next to your Speedmaster & you’ll have a nice chunk of change to spare.
Steinhart? Great value and all of your criteria matched.

Longines HydroConquest 39mm Auto, comes in blue and black and with discount, you have both for £1500! Jura watches stock them.
My thoughts initially went to Sinn but isn’t the U1 out of scope at 44mm?
Oris Aquis or used Seamaster for that money. I think I’ve tried most of the stuff in this price bracket!
You are quite correct! My apologies, I really must stop skim reading!
As others have said the seamaster seems to be popular, I never got on with the (imo) busy bracelet however. Steinhart could be worth a look but they are quite homage based, which may influence your feelings.
I've not checked for a while but if you looked hard could a pelegos be had for £1500 or are they still north of £2000?
Tudor Hydronaut 89190...
