    Giving an oldie some time.

I had the watch case out at the weekend and found this old beauty in the bottom layer.

It is a lovely thing and certainly reaffirming my preference for smaller watches these days....

    Cheers,
    Adam.

    Looks lovely

The strap really complements the gold accents of the dial

I absolutely love SS cases with light dials and gold hands / accents on a brown strap

Really lovely. I don’t know the maker, out of interest do you have any more information? The Edinburgh connection looks interesting.

I’m actually not sure of the maker. Tatton of Edinburgh were a retail jeweller. I think the shop closed in the ‘70’s.

Cheers, the dial captures the light really well, brilliantly for a watch this age.

Couldn’t agree more. Sounds like an idea for a thread...

That's a smashing watch, and looks just right on your arm.
I have a couple of steel case, light dial gold hands watches too.
Get that thread started before I post 'em in this one!

Really lovely looking watch. Simple but classic design.
I have managed to avoid too much interest in the vintage side of my watch hobby, but examples such as this do make me realise that that could change. Already wondering if 33mm would look okay on my wrist.
Thanks to the OP for sharing.

Interest in good quality vintage watches definitely seems to be escalating, no surprise IMHO considering the greed and restrictive practices of the major watch manufacturers these days.

I've never seen anything from this brand/jeweller before.. as an Edinburgh native, I like it a lot!
