Hydraulic lifts take up barely any more space than the bike itself. The one I have is actually shorter overall than the bike but I’ve got some checker plate to lengthen the bed slightly.

I am in the process of making my own single-post lift.
It` a hybrid between the Big blue (under the chassis/engine via platform) type and the Skylift using the swingarm pivots.
There`s a bit of fine-tuning/finishing left to do on it yet (before i trust it with my 20K GSA!) and when that`s done i`ll give it a lick of paint, too.
I`ve done a bit of maintenance with already and i think working on bikes `in the air` is going to be a game changer...

It’s the width where I struggle for space, I have a double length garage rather than double width. With the racking in place down the side at the bike end of the garage and a second bike coming I just don’t have the room to have a lift down and navigate around it.

With those bikes, more likely to be an active participant in the apocalypse

    Today I discovered...

Arai Chaser V chin vents are screwed into place, not clipped.

Ah well, easily fixed ready for tomorrow's test ride.

Triumph Street Triple RS demo completed.

What an absolutely stunning and amazingly capable bike. Astonishing.

Not one I'd want to own though, as it was constantly taunting me to go faster and dafter than was sensible. On open, well surfaced twisties it was incredible and far better than me but when the roads weren't perfect (most of them) it felt wasted.

As I'd not do track days, I reckon the "base" R would be a better road bike than the RS for real life conditions; slightly softer, slightly tamer and not so manic.

That said, they'd got the Street Triple Moto 2 bikes in and I reckon I'd be tempted to buy one of those just to look at.

All sold. Probably a good thing!

Seems like the yellow is totally sold out and there's a queue for cancellations. Same with the Moto 2 - the yellow sold out first.

It's brilliant, but I'm not good enough for it

A few minutes video of me and some friends riding to Belgium last weekend.
We found some great roads between Charleroi and Malmedy.
Couple of the group went to Spa and were able to walk onto the track at Eau Rouge to watch to the practise session for some LM Prototype cars.
A few damp moments didn't spoil the fun - we've got laminated gear that actually keeps you dry in the rain.
A stop at Tyne Cot War Cemetry near Ypres on the way home was a very somber moment.
    (I'm riding my Multistrada V2S)

My brother has the same RS. Frankly it’s wasted on him. Lovely looking bike though.

Apparently the Moto 2 versions sold out in a flash.

Any way I had a great ride out on the S1000R today. Either the last proper ride before I ride it to Bahnstormer to PX it, or the last ride ever if it sells in the next few days.

It really is a fantastic bike but I doubt I’ll miss it given what’s replacing it.

    Lovely.

I rode a lot around that way in my younger days when the priority was to drink beer in the evening and not to hit the scenery during the day and as I result I can never quite remember where things were.

    Just bought a new helmet!

Went in with the intention of buying a budget to mid-price lid but the sales assistant was... was... was... well, let's just say that I've not got a far nicer Arai than I'd budgeted for.

Freddie Dobbs is on his way to Morocco.

I quite enjoy his videos along with his GF Monica and their very high mileage car.

Bits falling off, forgetting things, not enough space etc.etc. but he always seems to make it.

He has spent a lot of time travelling to sunny climes and having a good life with Monica, fair play to him.

Its a bit like how we did it when we where young (a long time ago).

The engineers here will love his exhaust baffle fix in the previous video.

I quite like his videos, his laid back style is easy on the ear. However his reviews of Jackets surprised me. He must have 10 pairs of bike boots and the same again in bike jackets. They all seem to be “ on the go” yet whilst he was riding around Bali it was flip flops and a linen shirt.

I feel the same as you about his videos, and reckon all his biking gear is the result of sponsorship deals. Anyway, I enjoyed this video and look forward to seeing how he gets on with what appears to be limited planning.

From the days when bikes had sensible riding positions.

Interesting looking at the condition of a 45 year old Guzzi, when this is the state of M&P's 2 year old demo

Was that a V85TT? if it is they have a high mudguard which doesn't guard much.

That's a great pic. Particularly like the helmet chucked in the grass when you got stuck! Is that a 890? Hard to tell from the pic.
