    SOTC and thoughts

Hello all. I made some changes to the collection and thought I would share. I like to keep it at 10 watches if possible. I'm thinking of adding a GMT and really dig this Grand Seiko. What do you think? Feel free to make suggestions. Thanks

Nice set! No Rolex is refreshing...

The GS would definitely make for a decent number 10

Get the Seiko GMT it is a very gorgeous piece that will go well with your collection. I can see you appreciating these all for many years to come.

That is my favourite GS and would be a great addition to what you already have.

That Seiko is a great runner-up if you're not considering Rolex for some reason.

That’s the GS I keep coming back to. Would look great on blue croc.

Great collection. I can recommend the GS (although mine is the old logo version). I have mine on a blue CF ostrich strap...

Even though ordinarily I don't like Roman numerals, I really like the Cartier, something about the case shape. Here's an alternative but similarly styled GS. It has a sunburst silver/champagne dial and hi beat movement.

Great collection, I really like the Oris. I was trying on that exact cartier this weekend, great shape and styling, just a bit different. Is that the extra flat version?
    Thanks for sharing.

Nice collection, I reckon a golden reverso would add some credits here

LOVING the IWC Pilots' Chronograph, definitely on my "Most Wanted" list.

Nice-looking watch, but with five of their products already, I’d be leery of creating further dependency on Richemont for service.

Great collection - very colourful. Love the IWC. A Grand Seiko GMT would be a classy addition.

I had the older SBGE001 GS GMT with the “Seiko” on the dial and it was an amazing watch. Probably my most favorite GS ever of all the 4 I had at one time.

Be warned this watch is not without its issues..

    - Very big and thick
    - Wears heavy on the wrist, close to 180g
    - Bracelet is deficient and this extends to nearly every GS in production today.
    - My end links started developing rattles against the case after 3 years of daily wear
    - Lacks micro adjustment on the clasp and only 2 half links are provided. For me overall comfort was hit or miss but never on the sweet spot.
    - Lume is very bright at first but fades out very quickly. Very disappointing.

I think the watch itself and the SD movement are both beyond reproach. But Seiko needs to offers smaller, more comfortable case sizes and take a lesson or two from Rolex on how a proper luxury watch bracelet and clasp should be.

    Until then, Rolex for me.

I find some of the issues you mention quite surprising, you would think the bracelet and case would need a gap to start with to create a bad wear tolerance like that with modern stainless steel used today, and poor lume on a high end Seiko when the Lumibrite glows like a torch all night on their lower end models.

Don't get me wrong, you have owned four and I haven't even handled one let alone owned one, just surprised that's all, I had quite a high opinion of GS based on what I've read over the years.

That looks great - I tried one on in Dubai about 18 months ago and thought it was lovely. I am somewhat of a Rolex fan but I may be tempted to add this GS to my collection. Thanks for sharing.

No micro adjustment is a bummer. I'm usually a strap fan anyways.

I'd agree with this thought. A gold duo Reverso adds a new shape to your collection, the complication you want and both white & black dials depending on your mood/outfit requirements.

That's a good option. I'll have to look into that.

So a quick update. I decided to sell my PAM 380 and decided on a GS Snowflake Springdrive. Should have it some time next week.

So any thoughts what I should add next??????

    Nice one!

There’s nothing you need to add, but if you do, it could be time for a Rolex. :)
