I have a bit of a hankering for the Grand Seiko SBGX097 / SBGX297.
This is a JDM only model; I have checked with the GS boutique in London this week, and it can't be had here directly. So, I would be keen to hear your views on the best way to acquire one - presumably from Japan. Specifically:
What is the cheapest and most reliable option?
Marginally preferring the (discontinued) 097 to the (current) 297, do I have any options on that front?
Many thanks all :)

Also try Seiya and Chino, they're the other two well known and reliable suppliers of JDM watches.
Seiya won't sell any GS to EU or UK countries.

Several great tips there, many thanks. I should have added to the initial post: how nice are the Seiko Boutique staff in London? Yes, ultimately they weren't able to get the watch I wanted, but I can't recall having had the level of customer focus elsewhere, and they seem to have been all over seiko internally over the course of a week or so to see if they could have made this happen for me. Quite a contrast to some of the service stories running in other threads here currently.
Don't think FJ will ship a watch with a crocodile strap. Could try other forwarders. Email a Rakuten seller direct.

If you use somebody other than FJ appreciate your review.

Thanks - hadn’t really considered the strap presenting an issue but I suppose it might...
