Im having a two up two down renovated in the north west. I have been given 4 quotes for different combi boilers.
Im leaning towards the Worcester, what do you think on the prices? And reliability of each combi?

Worcester or Platinum.
The Worcesters are very reliable but parts are expensive.
The platinum is easy to fix when it goes wrong and parts are reasonably priced.
Baxi Platinum 33, you may need to increase the gas pipe feed to 28mm though. Hot water flow is superb.
Valiant Ecotec Pro 28 - I have that exact boiler and it has been faultless for 9 years. Just annual servicing required.
I don't have a regular gas service man but when they've come to service it, all have commented how good the valiant Ecotec series is in general.
Add: all the boiler plumbing is done in the fatter gauge and flow is excellent.
Vaillant. Too many plastic parts in the WB's nowdays.
I have a vaillant ecotec 937 plus, great boiler but massive. It stands around 60cm off the wall!
Not a plumber and it's hard to offer much experience by way of comparison due to the practicalities of trialling differing boilers in the home setting, but FWIW I inherited a Vaillant Eco Tec Pro 28 when we bought our new (to us) house last October.
Been a terrible winter and the boiler has been faultless. Plumber who serviced it when we moved in said the Vaillant build quality was as good if not better than the WB.
Vaillant. Boiler installers push WB more because they are lighter, needs 2 of you to hang a Vaillant.

I had a WB 30i fitted last year and I'm very pleased with it. Did a lot of research with plumbers I know and most recommended WB apart from one who was very pro Baxi. WB came out best buy 'Which' with 94% satisfaction.
It makes you wonder why WB only give a 2yr warranty and Baxi 10 ?
I got 7yrs with my WB. Don't forget the warranties are as much for marketing purposes as well.

Platinum for the win
If you go for the WB go for a classic model I’ve had 2 in both my homes with no problems. We have a few in rental properties at work & have a WB service technician look after them, he told me the most reliable in the range was the classic. Truth be known I’ve never serviced either of them & both run trouble free (probably just jinxed that)
WB or Vaillant
If it is being fitted to an existing old conventional system it is crucial to clean / flush the system thoroughly before converting to a combi system.

Sorry to Hijack this thread, but does anyone have any thoughts about ATAG boilers? We were considering WB etc, but one well regarded local installer also offers ATAGs (ATAG iC Economiser 35). Any input appreciated.
Price wise I’ve just been quoted a WB Greenstar 25 installation (moving from a thermal store and an old fashioned back boiler!). £2250 inc VAT just for the boiler.
£3k, plus VAT for all that seems a good price to me.

If you have a water meter / Backflow device look into a mini expansion valve fitted to the cold supply, otherwise the plastic manifolds / components can split / leak. This can get overlooked. IMO good practice for whatever boiler you choose

I was recommended by my plumber who's my brothers best friend to get an external oil Grant Boiler. Reasons being that they are reliable, and are designed to be easily repairable.
We picked an over-spec'd one to compensate for any additional outbuildings, expansions that may occur in the future. We commissioned it yesterday and all is well - touch wood.
Anyone able to recommend a decent plumber to come and price up swapping from a traditional to combi boiler in SE London?

Very few boilers are heavy these days as they have aluminium heat exchangers and that is where the weight is. In fact if you look at the spec of these two similar output combi boilers, you’ll see the WB is heavier than the Vaillant.

Whichever model you choose, you would be well advised to fit a ‘Magnaclean’ unit, they are not expensive and do a great job filtering out any metallic particles from your system and extending the boiler life.
The internal magnet is quite sizeable and pretty powerful and the unit is cleaned of debris during a boiler service, obviously you specify this cleaning although I would imagine most boiler engineers would do it as standard.
I’d say listen to this man as he repairs them for a living!

I got ten years with my WB last year. Had to have a water softener as well though.
I was chatting with s friend this week who was moaning about the abysmal customer service with Vailant and said he’d never buy another one because of it. He’s had no complaints about the quality of the boiler though.
