    IOM TT 2018

Anyone going, there, watching on the tele etc. A thread to post anything you like about the TT.

Ive had a few laps already - just awesome so far, but someone managed to have the mountain road closed within 30 minutes of it opening as one way for the fortnight!

Wishing good luck, and safe rides, to all riders and racers alike.
It's just a matter of time...

Would love to be there, but will have to settle for listening to the races on TT Radio in the works Van

    Maybe next year?!

I always try and listen to the racing on the radio, even when I’m trackside!

I'll be watching. I enjoy ITV4's TT coverage every year.

What's the weather forecast for the week?

Rain tomorrow - then dry for the whole week! :)

    Thanks for that.

Will the absence of a few "names" make much of a difference this year?

Not so much. Most people book the year before. There are lots of great riders in the top 15-20 places, so it will still be amazing to watch. Plus Hutchy and Dunlop likely to race, with Dan Kneen, Lee Johnston, Hickman etc.

Fair point. I'm looking forward to it - the on-board shots just confirm that these guys operate on a different level to normal humans.

Reasonable times so far. It was quite windy on the mountain on my final lap, not that the professionals would be as affected by such things.

Hutchy a little off the fastest guys, but Harrison, Dunlop and Conor Cummins going well.

All set for a great year.

Flying on the Thursday to watch the Senior, and coming back Sunday so should see the Post TT races at Billown too.

Been numerous times, and it's one of those that has to be experienced.

Unfortunately, only Josh Brookes riding the Norton. John rebroke his ankle before the NW200, so will be a spectator this year.

Speeds are looking very high already for the big bikes with times over 133mph averages already.

Quite a few riders over, or very close to 130mph averages.

Indeed. The family know the parents well - probably one of the worst losses of a known local rider for us. A great talent, and he will be badly missed by friends and family. I’m still a little shocked, I remember him as a baby.

Oh dear... aweful. Dan had a great NW200 this year. I was expecting him to have a strong TT following that performance.

    RIP Dan..

As you rightly guessed PB always on the timing and the Manx radio pages, was just interested if any live streams were to be had, I think that the Duke dynasty ensure no live coverage happens....

Have to make do with my 1951 Barnet map lol

    Yep quick eh Chris?

Shame he couldn't have finished the race with those lap times, think he had a 16 sec lead at one point but was reduced down to around nine seconds, obviously due to his bike problems

Hopefully Harrison and Hickman will have the reliability to challenge MD in the remaining races.

Hillier, Hickman, Harrison - One of them must get on the top step this year?

And what about Connor Cummins? Didn’t expect the Honda to be so good, or for him to be at the top - either!

Haven’t checked, but - is anyone fielding any R-1s?

  41. #41
    There are a few R1's

    Brookes
William Dunlop - but pulled out
    Horst Saucer
    Martinez
    George Spence

50%+ of the field are BMW S1000RR's

3 races, 3 new lap records.

I'm sat on the mountain, just up from Joey's - waiting for the big bikes to start after this side car practice.
It's just a matter of time...

Well done to Peter Hickman, lets hope for a safe rest of the week...

Another great day of racing, and new records!

Dunlop now on 18 wins (3 already this week!), another TT win for Rutter (as a replacement rider for John McG in the TT Zero), and a great win for Dean Harrison on the 600!

This Friday’s Senior race is all set to be a very exciting finale!

Both Harrison and Hickman are up there, and proven they can string together all 6 fast laps.

    I’m going with Hickman.

Before the superstock I fancied Harrison for the win and Dunlop not far behind, but I'm not sure now as Hickman was awesome in that race clawing 11 seconds back after overshooting at braddan bridge.
