Is it some sort of pie? I used to know about food before I moved to Shetland, but with a Tesco and a Co-op here barely larger than your metro stores there, I am afraid that we have little choice. The local delicacy is mince, neeps and tatties, never shepherds pie as that would be too cosmopolitan. Kumquats and star fruit have not entered my vision for over a decade. When the weather is bad, and the ferries can’t get the fruit and vegetables in I worry about scurvy.
