How much does the Dalai Lama charge for a watch service?! Hopefully not much judging by this:

“For example, I have always enjoyed repairing watches. But I can remember a number of occasions as a boy when, completely losing my patience with those tiny, intricate parts, I picked up the mechanism and smashed it down on the table. Of course, later I felt very sorry and ashamed of my behavior–especially when, as on one occasion, I had to return the watch to its owner in a condition worse than it was before!”

I don't think you need to worry - he doesn't work for Chealwatch any more.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

In his official portrait, President Obama was wearing a Rolex Cellini.

Shouldn’t Putin’s Blancpain Grande Date Aqua Lung have, well, a big date on the dial?

Well spotted. They've shown the wrong Blancpain it would seem.

Grande Date has a large date made up of two adjacent windows at the six o'clock position.

I’ll admit there’s more than a little envy going on with my lack of ability to buy a watch of similar value but Prince Charles’ Parmigiani is not that nice: what’s going on with the date window?

I agree and yes, the date window looks very much like an afterthought.

I love the idea of a parmigiani, but they all seem to sit in the “uncanny valley”, just some liminal aesthetic thing that keeps the watch from being lovely. Toric Chronomtre (not chronograph, mind): take 3mm off the case diameter, sort out the handset, and you’d have my perfect watch right there.

Who in their right minds would want to buy or wear that Trump monstrosity?

I’m surprised that Trump wears tat. He’s a man of understated class normally.

Can't imagine when HRH needs to use a Chronograph. But, saying that, how many Chrono owners do use the functions available?
