    Sea fishing

Out sea fishing again tonight, just had this Bass as an American tourist rode past on his bike to take the photo honours, changing bait from Crab to Squid for the ebb to see if I can catch me a Ray

Lovely catch! Were you using crab as bait for that, as I understand you wrote? If so, if I may ask, how did you rig it?

Neither, there's a ban on keeping Bass at the moment, and I wouldn't fancy eating a Flounder, I sometimes take the odd Plaice though.

Very good and nicely done, imho!

So I take it it's the claw you use and elasticate that onto the rig, rather than the flakey bits?
(That would be ideal as I like to eat the flakey bits!)

    Cheers,
    AP.

That's not Crab it's Squid, just to give you an idea, I tend to put some effort into bait presentation, it casts better as well as looks good.

I don't tend to use Claws and Legs, I know it sounds contradictory when I spoke about presentation, but the legs would just come off during the cast anyway using a powerful beachcaster casting at range, it's the Crabs body juice that attracts fish with it's scent anyway.

Yes fully agree, it's not all about the fishing.

Sea fishing cured my watch addiction....only downside is it's lure fishing for bass. All the japanese tackle makes watch collecting rather cheap hobby.... but the 'Fish on' moments are soooo worth it. Just wish I lived closer to sea

Now that the weather is becoming cold and wet the numbers of fishermen along the sea wall near my apartment seems to suddenly increase.

How bad does your life have to be when spending a day in the freezing cold and wet is preferable to being at home?
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Does Flounder not make good eating? I can't even tell the difference between that and a Plaice!

Depends where they have been living, as they spend a lot of time in the river esterys and would probably taste muddy.

As for the difference, best way to tell is flounder have a milk white underside where Plaice are quite transparent like Dabs, both have orange spots.
