That’s surprising, I’ve seen pictures of it next to the older DSSD and I couldn’t tell them apart if it wasn’t for the Rolex Coronet at the 6 o’clock, I haven’t seen one in person mind you.
Had a look at one today! As a huge Seadweller fan and owner/previous owner of SD4K, DSSD, SD43 I can say one thing: The size is hilariously big! Not big, slightly too big or huge, but HUMUNGOUS!!
I'm devastated though, as I wanted a DSSD with a balanced size bracelet. I reckon the case has increased in thickness too!
At well over 6ft and 17 stone, Ah'm still oot!

Surprising and disappointing to me too. It's so thick!
Its not, the bracelet taper that was always the watches Achilles heel has been rectified and they whole thing feels just right
RIAC
That’s very surprising. What a shame. Glad I’ve got the old one :-)
In the overall scheme of things, a DSSD 126660 may be a big Rolex but you still see loads of bigger watches being worn in the big wide world.
I
Are there and measurements confirming increase in size other than bracelet?

Surely the watch case is the same size - Maybe just deceived the OP?
When I owned the DSSD I always thought it looked a lot larger when I saw it in AD windows or on other peoples wrists for some bizarre reason, even though it was of course the same watch as mine
Thats odd as it looks smaller than the old version from the pictures which I have seen.
Thought the dssd mk1 was 43mm
This photo shows a side by side shot and to be honest they're so close I don't think I can actually tell which is which.
i know a 116660 very well as I've been a regular wearer for 8 years, and I don't think these changes make it any more or less desirable. Just very subtly different. The 126660 will command a premium for a while I'm sure as there are fewer around and it's a hot 2018 release. In the future I don't think it'll make any difference.
I 100% don't think it needed a wider bracelet (not that 1mm really matters) and most folks who have actually worn one agree. I fear(ed) the wider bracelet could add to the bulk and be a negative evolution, and it appears from the OPs observations this could be true.
For what it's worth, and I know not everyone believed me last time, dealers are still gagging to get hold of the 116660 deep blue as there are still buyers regularly knocking on the door after them.

Minute hand looks longer on the left... is it that one. It does look bigger than the others.
Man that new clasp is enormous!!
The way the end links are flush with the tops of the lugs does look brilliant, that is a definite improvement I reckon. I don't however like what appears to be longer lugs. I don't know if they are longer but they looked it in the promo shots and they certainly look it in this comparison shot. Does anyone know if case size lug to lug has increased or if it's smaller end links.
I have had 2 of the older dssd and as much as I love the idea just couldn’t get on with them. The bracelet taper and thin ness was just silly and made the watch look like an orange on a toothpick. If that’s been resolved I will get my name down because I lived everything else about it!
