    Vertical pound notes

I suppose it might make them more convenient to handle. Not sure though - anyone used them elsewhere?

Everything we do over here is ridiculous.

Don't think it's ridiculous, just different.

These have obviously not been fully QA or regression tested. What about when they are in a wallet or purse or will there be a new line of wallets and purse to cater for these

So determined to be different it comes over as forced. Sad and pathetic.

I honestly don't get how having the note with some writing 'vertical' will help. I hold my wallet horizontally, so therefore read the text (if I still had to, such as if I was unfamiliar with the currency) in its horizontal orientation. Text vertical will just mean extracting the notes and having to rotate them to the vertical position to read, which is more of a faff.

Utterly pointless as far as I can tell.

It's cash, it'll get spent pretty quickly whichever way its printed!

Have enough trouble spending Northern Irish notes in London as it is (actually not been too bad for the last few years but that's not as funny).

Never seen one and certainly wouldn't accept one.

I quite like it, however cash is becoming a thing of the past anyway.

Done long time ago in The Netherlands, late 80s as a matter of fact. The Lighthouse as it was called! Designed by Robert Oxenaar. We miss our own banknotes every day... BTW, I like the designs of the new UK notes!
