    Fareham August accommodation

Looking for some accommodation in Fareham or close vicinity for 5 adults, 2 kids and a toddler.

Required from Friday 3rd August for 2 nights possibly 3.

Any recommendations, never been so unsure what are the good/bad locations etc.

Happy to travel 10 miles to Fareham from surrounding areas.

    Cheers

I used to drive down to monthly meetings in Portsmouth and we used to stay in the Red Lion on the main high street in Fareham. It was a nice old country type pub with modern accommodation at the rear. As I recall it had a residents car park, was down the road from the main line station for both London and Portsmouth and was close to the shops.

Having used it for work, I even stayed there with the wife when I went to see The Who in Portsmouth. It's been a few years since I stayed there, but it was really nice and well used as a first port of call for anyone working in and around that area of the South coast.

    Fareham August accommodation

The Meon Valley runs north of Fareham and is nice. Try somewhere like Wickham?

Seeing as there are kids as well why don't you look at somewhere like Lee On Solent....nicer than Fareham, not far away and it's basically a little seaside town so the kids can play on the beach (stoney not sandy) and get an ice cream on demand! There is also a nice little crazy golf at one end.
I couldn't recommend a specific hotel or whatnot as ive never felt the need to use one so close to home.

Out of these I’d stay at New Place- about 10/15mins outside Fareham or The Holiday Inn.

or Marwell Hotel and take the kids to the zoo!

it is worth saying the traffic can be miserable both weekdays and weekends too, especially if a nice day and people are heading to the sea, so worth looking at the time you need to be somewhere on which day on something like WAZE or Google maps and checking your travelling time, for a small town it has some long queues in and out and depending on where you are trying to get to being on the wrong side of it could be very trying

I can understand why people queue to get out of Fareham...
