Even if some banks move their HQ, Canary Wharf is hardly going to be a ghost town.
Yesterday I noted that Nail Inc has gone, and the unit is now covered with Bremont ‘Film’.
situated almost opposite Watchfinder it should be an interesting neighbour.
Ironically due to open as many of the big banks are due to announce their EU HQ, and just before HMG descends en masse!
Currently it’s HMRC- already trickling in
MHRA - due 2019 (ohh the irony).
MOD - due 2020-2021 (shh).
Even if some banks move their HQ, Canary Wharf is hardly going to be a ghost town.
True, but with a heavily reduced workforce who also won’t be receiving large annual bonuses. Several of the bars/restaurants are changing, and recently Le Relais de Venice quietly closed and left and there is no longer enough business for a fixed price £25 steak & Fries meal business.
It will survive, but I don’t think they expected their core customer base to become the Civil Service.
The whole of Westferry Circus is basically empty now except for the local Family Court.
