Barbados holiday currently, more time to think about watches
I have a watch box full of GShocks and I have no idea why because I never wear any of them.
I often sit and think which watches I would buy if I was loaded.
Often talk to my boss who is also wis.
Love it.
What's next......

For years I`ve been a collector, happy to own watches that might get worn a couple of times/year, but I turned 60 this year and I've started thinking I`ve got far too many. I have a hard core of 3 or 4 as daily wearers, the rest are 'occasional wearers' that rarely see the light of day. My plan was to get everything serviced/sharpened up cosmetically then decide what to keep and what to sell, but that plan's stalled recently for several reasons.
There's a fine dividing line between collector and hoarder.......not sure which side I`m on! I find it hard to part with anything I like, I only buy stuff I really like, and I have fairly wide taste so there's a lot of watches to like. Being a fan of gold and bimetal doesn`t help, it's easy to end up with a steel and bimetal (or gold) version of very similar watches.
Buying project watches to restore seemed a good ploy, but I end up keeping them myself instead of selling on as originally intended! I did let one go earlier this year because I knew I`d never wear it but the last project watch ended up being my 60th birthday present to myself and it's now getting plenty of wear.
Ideally, it pays to own several watches and accept it'll take a few years to acquire them, that makes more sense than flipping constantly to me, but you can end up with too many.
