I do like that dial. Let us know what it’s like in the flesh.
I’ve been looking around for another watch, this is at the top of the list just because I love the dial and bezel combination.
I’m not a fan of white precious metal watches but maybe I’ve mellowed a little.
Anyway I’m going to have a look at one this afternoon let’s see how that develops.

If you haven't felt the weight of one of these before, brace yourself!
Don't pay RRP.
Typically around 20% under RRP is good 25% is the sweet spot. It’s an amazing watch the colours and contrast work well. The powder blue dial Only features in the platinum models and whilst the same size as the steel version it feels heavier and more substantial on the wrist but balanced and not too heavy for daily wear.
The platinum day date is like wearing an anchor after just a day but this is a beauty just smiles every time you look at it.

Stunning watch and as Haywood says it’s very heavy, though I quite like that.
Always wanted to try it on. These days ive become a wimp and gone from one extreme to the other (Deepsea to Aquanaut)
Always found the 116520 so comfy so must be quite a difference on the wrist
116500 incoming next month for me!
Is 20-25% discount realistic on this ?
Prefer the one with the diamond markers.
I tried one on a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it - the weight was nice, and the colouring of both dial and bezel lovely.
Only wish I had the money to buy one back then as they are a good bit more expensive now.
I do like that dial, too. So beautiful.
For those who want the look but don't quite have the budget:

Nice colour combo.

It's kind of people to post that link but the price on this particular listing and that of about three others (all marked to show that the price is subject to change and that availability is by arrangement) reflect no more than that which I could have charged the last time I was asked to quote a price for one. Availability, currency exchange rates etc might make the prices on those few watches higher or lower the next time.

First of all thanks everyone for the advice/ comments.
Jesus this things heavy, I took my 116618LB with me for weight comparison on the wrist, what I like about my sub is the guide lock clasp I can centre the clasp perfectly on the wrist, it’s well balanced and I hardly know it’s on even though it’s heavy.
Unfortunately no matter how I tried I could not get the Daytona clasp to sit central easy/comfort link in/out, links moved from one side to the other it just sat a little off centre, the fold over clasp slightly dug into my wrist add the extra weight and gravity into the mix and it started to bother me.
I can wear it very loose with the clasp central but then the case digs into the back of my hand, I really did try to get on with it but as it would be a daily wearer ( I would retire the Patek to the safe) it’s such a shame Rolex can not offer a guidlock system for the Daytona otherwise I would a few k lighter.
Bezel alignment, swirls knocks dings don’t bother me, but always the clasp has to sit central.
I’m going back after speaking to them about the micro adjustment, the dealer was hesitant about doing the adjustments in case he scratched the inside of the clasp, he assures me the in-house watch guru can do it without leaving a mark, if they do we’ll have to renegotiate the deal.

I strongly recommend you go for it. I wear mine all the time, to work, to the gym, out on the piss, for everything. If I’d wear a steel Sub for it, I’ll wear my Platona for it. The weight is so special whenever I pick it up, even now 18 months on.
I have to agree with the sentiment that blue and brown just don't go.
A little bit of me admires them for doing it, but to my eye the reality is as horrible as it sounds.
And yes, I have seen them in person, not just on the internet :)
I'm sure it feels wonderful being platinum but nothing would possess me to wear one.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
It's one of my favourite watches.
Whoever designed it understood the relationship between colours very well.
