    You’re welcome David.

I bought one of the H2R nova headtorches. They’re superb. Awesome beam - amazing power and recharchable.

Can be used as a stand alone torch, even magnetic endcap so can stick on side of car whilst changing wheel for example. Then of course fitted to the headband for a headtorch.

I want one too, but I'm waiting until Monday to get the H2R as the discount will go up to 40%.

Think I'll get one too but there is something that feels not right about strapping an 18650 battery to your forehead :/

  7. #7
Much appreciated. My Nitecore MH2C seems to have lost itself somewhere in my house and I miss having a more premium torch alongside all of my Chinese-brand 18650 torches.

The Smini's are a great little torch. I must have about 4 of them so far. Obviously not designed for long run times but as one to carry around and use for short periods they are superb (and they can pack a decent punch despite it's size).

It's sometimes best to find a review, eg YouTube link.

    See these links:

As I read it, there's a slight increase in output and a difference in the battery...and maybe other details.

just bought an S1R, thanks for the heads up. If you also buy the case for £4.99 you get free delivery (which was also £4.99) so essentially the case is free

I’ve been needing a head torch for a while now so have just bought the Olight H2R Nova for £41.97, down from £69.95 on Amazon in a Lightning deal. This is the price from the Olight website tomorrow.

The little keyring torch is £0 at the moment, you can get it for £5 with the delivery or bundle in as a freebie.

I'm having one to keep in the car.

S1R, keyring torch and pouch ordered, many thanks to the various posters for the helpful posts

My H2R has arrived today. My initial impression is that it is very bright at turbo setting. Also the headband is a very good design. The torch is held in place initially with a magnet and is then secured using a silicon band.

Wow. I know it gets hot on full beam but that's quite shocking.

Awesome torch though and very versatile with its 90 degree design. I often have it hooked on my top pocket.

I might have just accidentally bought an S2R.

At £35.97 it was rude not to, though.

It's worth noting that he used char cloth, ie "a slow-burning fuel of very low ignition temperature".

Just taken delivery of an R50 from the 40% off, shame they didn’t send me the free i3e that I’d also ordered :(. No mention of why it wasn’t in the package either, just an air freshener, scratch card and a Velcro badge (which I’m hoping isn’t the consolation prize!

Initial impression is pretty ‘wow’. Can’t wait to get the dog out later when it’s dark!

Cool little feature that I didn’t know... it has some kind of space dust glow in the dark material looking stuff round the inside of the edge of glass which glows after using the turbo mode

They are nice quality lights, I’ve had them on and off for years.

Good idea buying a non bike specific light too. I sent my mate a link to the sale and (he’s into his mountain bikes) said he’d just bought an ‘exposure diablo’ which I looked up and it’s a small ‘helmet light’ rrp is £215 and sells for £160! He’s also got an exposure 6 pack coke can light and the rrp is £485! Biketax! They’ve also got a much cheaper look to the anodising than all the Olight/jetbeam/suwayman/thrunite. They kind of remind me of the look of the no name eBay lights. He knows I’m into my torches and brought out his 6 pack when we were shooting, it’s ok but for the money you could get two much nicer looking lights from one of the flashaholic manufacturers.

Shows the power of advertising and marketing in the right place though. Wonder how O light would do making a bike clamp for the X7R and advertising in a bike mag. That exposure 6 pack is 4000 lumens and the X7R is 12000 lumens and looks way more premium and yet the RRP is almost half the exposure.

I wouldn't be too worried as yet, but I might contact them for a tracking reference. I expect that there were a lot of takers for their BF offers etc and they may not be quite a prompt as they normally are in shipping things out. When did you email them? That they're pretty busy might be suggested by them not having replied as yet.

Emailed yesterday after getting the email confirmation that order had shipped on Friday by 48hr delivery, I stated that the only reason for asking was that they said shipped by 48hr delivery, also repeated today that I just wanted an update as they said it had shipped, if it still had processing I would have waited

Olight have a good sale on for the next 4 days.

Just ordered two R50s at 40% off. One of them will make a nice stocking filler for the old man.
