Which Bluetooth or streaming music player.

I was thinking about a Amazon echo. We just want to stream utube and music from a phone and spotify etc in the kitchen.
Not sure if we need all the other stuff that come with the echo or google home.
    Cheers

I use a Bose Soundlink Mini (currently £150 on Amazon) for this exact task; streaming Spotify and YouTube. Used it every day for four years and still going strong. Fantastic sound quality for the price, portable, looks good and I get at least six hours from the battery when I take it into the garden.

Can connect to your phone(s), tablets and computer which you can then alternate between. The Mini version works well as I like the portability though the have other larger versions.

I'm with progressive here. Great little item that does all you need, and does it well.

Which Bluetooth or streaming music player.

I have one in the kitchen and a Dot in the bedroom. The Echo in the kitchen is great, good bass and it’s loud if you want it. I use Amazon Music Unlimited for £7.99 a month. Build up your library, tell it to “play my music” and you’ll be good to go!

i have something similar to this
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nobsound-Bl...ooth+amplifier

in my kitchen hooked up to some spare speakers I had lying about.
Hook it up to a phone via BT or aux and set spotify running during cooking or washing up.

I didn't think you could stream music from a phone (Bluetooth) on the Amazon devices?

Yup, you just pair your phone, tablet etc to it and away you go.
I too have the Boss Mini Soundlink speaker and it's great. Also have a Sonus Play 1 in the kitchen which again is a great speaker for the price.

The Bose Mini Soundlink is a great bit of kit. Great sound and reliable. I have one in my workplace where it's on at least 8 hours per day all year round.

I have a Google Home Mini which does exactly what I need for Spotify streaming in the kitchen. The good thing is with them is you can mount them to the underside of cabinets so they don’t take up any space unlike a regular speaker / dock.

It fills the kitchen with sound, is discrete in size and it’s ideal for “set a timer for 25mins called chicken” voice commands.

I’m swapping out my Echo Dots for GHMinis as the sound is far better and they look nicer too.

Sonos Play 1 with integrated Amazon Alexa would be my choice.

Sonos are great for connectivity (particularly iphones) but I find the Sonos 1 lacking compared to a decent hi-fi.

You can build a decent streaming hi-fi (either through music server or subs like Spotify, Deezer) using a Denon Ceol Piccolo wireless amp (plays over WiFi or airplay from you phone/other device) which you can pick up for peanuts, and paired with some good quality shelf/floor standing speakers (running mine on Kefs in the music room and ruark talismans in my office). A great hi-fi set up is seldom cheap, but a very decent one will always be cheaper and better than the Sonos/Bose offerings...

Someone else has mentioned it, but get something like the nobsound from Amazon and then some good bookshelf speakers. I recommend Qacoustics. You'll have a much better sound system than a single speaker tower thingy.

Buy a Bose. Best sound on the market.

Have you considered the forum favourite the MX-5?

To listen to the "Byrds'' perhaps?
