    Mystery Medical item

Can anyone help me identify this please.

Found in my parents shed along with other old medical items which my father collected over the years.

    That's a slow-worm mate.

(Sorry, are we not doing those anymore?) 😁

Rig it up, put the end in your mouth, pump a touch of air in, exhale air, remove pipe, lick your lips, confirm if its an enema kit.

Sadly, you're all wrong. It’s a rectal thermometer. The bit on the left goes up the dark place. The rubber tube is to bite on. Connection to the gauge is via WiFi.

It looks to me like a vacuum device, used to drain pleural effusions, uterine aspiration, ascites suction and the like. There would be a pump at one end, a glass container in the middle as a reservoir for the fluid aspirated, and a vacuum gauge to regulate the vacuum applied for each different situation. Just guessing ..
