For me these are the most anticipated Seiko models for years . (together with the SRPC91 )
Just hoping the countdown is at least 24 hours......
Wondering if a positive display model is in the making.
There's a new (to me at least) digital Prospex-family (Landmasters) from Seiko coming out in May. Looks pretty cool
They're going to be <£200.
What do we reckon the nickname will be? The Digi-Tuna?!
There are 5; black, pepsi, gold and two limited editions a black with red writing and my personal favourite, the SBEP007 (below), which has a nato-style strap. Don't know whether these will go on worldwide release or stay JDM. The big downside is that they appear to be absolutely colossal. Almost 50mm across and 14mm thick, although I guess it wears smaller due to the lack of lugs.

These look very cool. There are some digital Alpinists with bluetooth and a load of other bunkum which caught my eye, but they looked cheap (bit weren't priced as such). This however might sway me, been after a nice Seiko digital for a while.
With the previous versions there were a couple released in conjunction with an Android app that looked like a smartwatch on a budget.
Not sure I understand the bezel's function on a non-analogue display watch?
No not overly clear yet. I think there is a digital counter that goes around the bezel but not sure

I should have ordered one from, fromjapan.jp today.. if i have done it right.
Too interesting not to try at £200
They even do one with a Pepsi bezel, which oddly enough I am drawn to!!
Scottie
Interesting, but 49mm diameter is not for me.
Not sure I see a backlight button either......
I am still waiting for Seiko Prospex to do a nice, reasonably sized GMT using their lovely Kinetic Movement with a 0-60 bezel.

As it comes to watch (although it might seem like heresy) I actually like it.
A lot.
It looks like lovechild of Gshock and Tuna with attitude.
Also it has solar charge, it is 200 m WR...and all packed in affordable price (around 350$ if I am not wrong.
I cant wait for it to turn up in EU.
As it comes to looks...
Seiko is notoriously bad with stock pictures. Even their nicest models look like piece of c....p on stock photos. I dont know how they manage to do that. Perhaps there is special "letsmakeitlookcheap" filter in Japan.

I can see them being a big seller.
Huge fans of these! Not really like anything else we've seen from Seiko this year!
I want one too! I think (hope) 50mm will be manageable with the lack of lugs.
Simon
Can’t see in the specs but I wonder will they radio-sync like g-shocks?
Must say I do love that. Like the love child of a Pro Trek and a Tuna. My experience with reverse LCD displays is that they aren't that readable except in bright outdoor light, but perhaps this will be different. Or not.
That's cos it is 20 per month rather than per day

Apologies, I have corrected my post it is 20s per month, still very poor if it was a radio controlled watch.

It is not RC watch...
Just found out about these today and I must say I am impressed. Combine two of my favourite watches, Seiko and G-Shock, and you sort of end up with a DigiTuna. Fantastic!
That Pepsi will be my next watch.

FJ is a buying service. Take part in Yahoo auctions or buy now from a variety of sites. You deposit money and they buy on your behalf. Product shipped to them and they ship to you. 10% off at Rakuten today. This discount happens a lot. Make sure you use Paypal/CC as FJ is useless at chasing problems. Use Chrome for viewing Japanese sites as it auto-translates.
I've just put an order in via White Rabbit - this article:

...has a link.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and let you all know how I get on.
Cheers,

Thanks again to wadebridge59 for the link. I've just ordered the SBEP003 - the Pepsi one. This shot tipped me over the edge. :)
Now they do look rather tasty, 003 especially.

Cheers Mike. I'm giving them a go. Gone for the SBEP005

Disappointed to see that these don't seem to have a stopwatch function, bezel excluded...
Power save
Alarm function (three-channel daily alarm)
Timer function
World time function (44 cities)
Dual-time
Sound demonstration function
Although I'll be able to live with it.
^^^^seriously, no stopwatch? Come on, that cannot be hard to integrate?
I like the Pepsi but am trying not buy watches. Will I, won't I? It's getting difficult. Looking forward to some hands-on reviews.
If you're new to FJ you will see the bargains on YahooJapan. Make sure you check the bracelet size as Japanese have smaller wrists than Westerners. I have found that 95% of the time the descriptions are very true; look out for translations like beautiful or mint, and grade A or 7/10. I bought a grade B Citizen A660 and was very impressed. I think watches are treated with reverence in Japan so you just find the usual swirlies from normal use.
Auctions get extended if a sniping bid arrives. I think it's a bid arriving in the last 5mins extends the auction by 5mins. If it's something you really want, my advice is to stay up and bid live. Do the usual, reduce the bidding increments and convince the others you are there to win by coming back with minimal increments. That is, keep extending the auction and hope they have something better to do. The chased after auctions usually finish late at night on a Sunday.
A Seiko example. I bought a used spring-drive off YahooJapan that arrived without a warranty. I approached Seiko Japan who sent a new certificate. I was concerned about the required kinetic motion to charge it so approached Seiko Aus who sent it to Siko Japan for checking. Basically, if you buy a Seiko from Japan, don't worry.
If you come across a tosser complain to FJ, who will do nothing, and use that email as part of your evidence to CC of trying to resolve with seller. I always download the web-page of the product in Japanese and English to pdf to credit card company along with my photos. You may get a dud but mostly you will get a prize. As the scouts say, 'be prepared'.
Re shipping, I always choose EMS as EMS parcels don't get picked up for tax in Aus (touch wood). We still have a $1000 limit here, although that's going in the near future.
Make sure you tick title and description in searches.
To find sold prices, change to auction completed tab
To do above, click condition specification.
Surely "Timer" refers to stopwatch functionality.
My item has arrived, just paid for it to be shipped to me.
Yeah mine arrived on Friday or think. Never used from Japan before so this is all a bit new to me and not particularly intuitive

Sun021/023 is big but 'wears small' as they say
I don't like big watches, on a steel watch my limit is around the 38.5 mark, but these do wear very well, especially on the comfy rubber strap
I don't understand why this line seems so unloved. They don't even have a nickname ffs.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
