Made me smile.........as a kid I had a set of Thomas The Tank Engine books dating back to the late 40s/early 50s, handed down from my elder cousin. Possibly they'd be worth a few bob now!

Thomas The Tank Engine made an amazing comeback from 60s/70s oblivion.
