    Another Rolex collection.

Update of my present little collection. I appreciate some of them look the same but they are not, all have subtle differences.
Submariner 5513 Maxi, Submariner 5513 Metres First, Submariner 5513 Gilt, Submariner 1680 Red, Seadweller 16660, Seadweller 1665 Mk1, GMT 1675 Gilt, Daytona 6263 Big Red, Daytona 16523 Zenith.

Really nice collection. Modern Rolex collections can look similar but there are clear differences in all of these.

    I love the big Red.

Which one is the big red? None of them are big or red

Fab collection. I think the 6263 tops the collection.

Rolex make brilliant watches but unfortunately they get lumbered with gormless nicknames.

It has a tiny bit of red text which some plonker reckoned should earn it the big red name.

    Nice collection by the way.

    The red submariner I imagine.

Very nice collection! Love the GMT even if the complication is totally wasted on me.

No, sorry Mick, it’s the white faced Daytona, the clue was Daytona 6263 Big Red and refers to the word Daytona being large and red, the one you are talking about with the tiny bit of red text is a Red Submariner, must try harder!

Thanks for that info. Couldn't really see the details on the Daytona so assumed it was the red sub. Probably should have read the OP properly instead of just oggling at the picture.

Come on Bob, that is a poor image for such a wonderful collection. Show the guys some close ups, the Daytona is rather special.

Nice watches in isolation. As a collection, for me personally, not enough variation.

Nice collection chief, my wife would kill me if I had those.

Btw, is that a Rapport Captain's watch box? I've been looking at it before. Do the pillows support small wrists?

Lovely collection you have there! All of them look spot on but the Red Sub in particular looks stunning!

Now that's what you call a collection. Really must step up my game & remortgage everything!!

  24. #24
Bob, congratulations that is a superb collection.

I would be more than happy to make the Red Sub my only timepiece.

And imo, you DO NOT have to justify to anyone what you collect or whether they look similar!

Dead right, there are smaller pillows inside the main ones so it’s adjustable, all clever stuff as it should be for the price.

Yep, know what you mean, not the biggest TT fan but the Daytona is a lovely watch when a bit of blingy gold is called for.

if that 1675 ever needs a home.......

i think in a collection of special vintage pieces like this lots of cross over is fine, nobody can argue with this quality! it's the collections of 5 and 6 figure references that aren't rare or hard to find that I can't get my head around, each to their own though!

  35. #35
Now that really is a superb collection.

Ah, that's clever. Would you be able to do a quick measurement of the circumference of the small pillows when you have the time?

I've been eyeballing the Phase de Lune watch roll as well, because it has flexible Rolex-like pillows.

That Gilt Dial GMT is just awesome.

Cheers Lee, praise indeed, but it’s a victim of its own circumstances, it’s so nice I very rarely wear it in case of damage, the original 6636 rivet bracelet looks as though it was made yesterday, absolutely mint.

The main pillow as seen in the pic is elliptical and is 210mm in circumference and quite stiff, the smaller internal pillow is 175mm and quite stiff across the major diameter but soft across the minor, hope that helps.

Hopefully not a rude question, but what's the market value for a gilt 1675 such as this at the moment?
