What a fantastic picture.
Wow
There were some nice examples on show.
It's quite overwhelming
The tropical 5512 is something else. As they all are!
I hope that event has some serious security. Imagine the value of what’s on the tables.
What an incredible array of watches and just across the water from me. Not impressed with the picture of my old office in Exchage Flags, but that aside a fantastic article.
Contrasting view for a moment - isn’t it a shame to see all those watches owned by so few people? They must spend most of their time in safes, hidden away. Its lovely to see so many of course, but I can help but think it seems such a terrible waste that they are enjoyed in what seems like such a limited way.
Were you there Haywood?
I’d be annoyed at myself if we never spoke..
I joined on Saturday afternoon for an hour or so, bringing a small selection of my watches (posted on another thread here earlier today) and wishing to support the generous organisers.
I struggle with these events in various ways, but met a couple of old friends and made some new ones before it was time to leave for my life beyond the watch world.
Sorry if we missed each other, but there’ll be other opportunities and I look forward to that pleasure.

Thank you, even a Rolex cynic like me enjoyed reading that article.
This was my favourite
Not issued but still a classic and maybe one of theist looking chrono’s, a Oyster Paul Newman MK1…
Speechless!
Some beautiful watches on show. Nothing better than seeing they’ve been used as intended too.
I know many of those watches will not be absolutely mint, but I still wince when I see watch cases touching (like the shots of many Rolexes on one arm)!
Insane, even the preMoon Speedmasters look cool.
An extraordinary array of Watches! Thanks for posting.
A truly fantastic view - watching all these magnificent old watches. Thank You for posting

Rare my arse.
(Some amazing watches there. The Daytonas, the honeycomb Ex1!)
I've stayed in that hotel... its very nice, but bare bricked and crumbling. Every night there was a fine layer of brick dust on the bed (and everything!)
Thanks for posting this report - its an amazing selection of pieces.
Very impressive, I don't think I've seen so many Comex Subs & SD in one place.
Aside from the actual rarer examples there it does rather amaze me how much money these watches can fetch when you see pics like this. No doubt the regular models were produced in the thousands upon thousands. Being on instagram I’ve seen similar meets from around the world and there’s hundreds of ‘rare’ subs and GMT’s covering tables and strung in multiples up people’s arms.
Shows the allure of the brand really. But it seems pretty clear when you see these hoarded type collections (and I’d probably be the same if I had the money) there’s probably a relatively small amount of collectors keeping prices extremely boyant.
When a Comex comes up for sale Joe Bloggs that wants one (and doesn’t have one) has no chance, there’s going to be rich collectors who’ve already got multiples of each fighting over it. Greedy buggers us humans aren’t we!
Sorry I missed you H, next time.
I had the same DRSD Comex in my hand during dinner at the last event, handed it back along with my own (non Comex) double red, with a sharpie written 07 on the back just for a laugh, he did giggle but I think had seen the gag before.
For those that don’t know, the watch in question is the lowest issued number which has turned up so far, one of several amazing pieces on show.
Great event.
Trust Jed et al are well?.
Did Eric (rebec1) attend?
Thanks for the link!
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
I did some research to find out more.

Fabulous event, attended by true watch lovers from all corners of the globe.
It was great to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones, around detailed discussions of our shared passion. Also super to see and play with so many different and special watches (and see a few that were previously mine!)
Best wishes,
Martyn.
Is it invite only or a club or something?
Everyone was on top form Chris, I don't know the gentleman you mention, sorry.
Couple of more links, great photos of the event.

Mind blowing to be honest. I remember Mike getting the Proprof a few years ago. A titanium Prototype used for development.
Fanstatic watches, but explains why they are so hard to find these days
