Posh burd has fully functioning reproductive organs. The nation rejoices. She’ll probably rattle off a few more before she’s done.

I am sure the unemployed helicopter pilot is utterly chaffed. Good for them.

Shouldn't we have a sweepstake and try to guess the name of our Nation's new Prince, who happens to have been born on St George's Day but was beaten to "George" by his elder brother, so will have to be called something else now?

I'm going with Dave. We haven't had a Prince Dave, and it's about time we did.

In these days of the Jockanese Nationalists trying to break up the country, an olive branch to the Sweaties doesn't seem unreasonable. I suggest Prince Tam or Price Rab.

How about just "Prince". There's a kid in my boy's class called Prince. But also there's a boy called Adolf. I kid you not.

I don't understand the unpleasantness, I am not a royalist but I wish all goes well for mother and new baby.

Philip would be my bet for the name if it is a boy, Elizabeth if it is a girl.

It was a boy a few hours ago.

    I'd guess at Andrew.

Less than 7 hours after giving birth the Duchess of Cambridge is in full make up and outfit, smiling and waving to the crowd, it does hammer it home that the royal family have to put on a show for everything, i bet she'll be glad to rest!

It selectively died - with the tedious onslaught of English put-downs.

This thread is like Groundhog Day - exactly the same as when she had her first two and no doubt will be exactly the same as when Harry becomes a father.

Why not simply enjoy the the fact that a happily married woman gave birth to healthy child rather than making snide comments about their parents.

Women give birth every day of the week, other than my own kids and family members I really couldn't give a rats arse about this one. I don't need to get the commemorative paper out the guardian which I can apparently cherish for years to come, neither do I need to fawn with false admiration that some other human being as managed to procreate....who cares?

Also, I wasn't particularly fussed when my sister had her kids. Don't see why I would want to get all worked up about some random lass.

Despite what's portrayed in the media, not everyone happens to be a Royalist. I’m certainly not. I don’t see any particular evidence of the nation rejoicing at some burd called Kate popping out yet another bread snapper.

Yes, I’m a Republican. Perhaps I’m in a minority here but we’re still a fairly substantial minority and the numbers are growing.

Good for Kate & William. The Royal family do more for this country than any Republic could, prestige and money wise.

Well, my money is paying for this family to live in luxury, so I have every right to an opinion, positive or negative. I would be quite happy for royals to have a maximum child quota (say, for example, two). I can't afford more kids, and have limited my breeding as I'm sure most decent people have had to. As a taxpayer I should therefore have a say in how many offspring my dependants consider acceptable in producing. I would rather my hard earned cash went towards a few well aimed contraceptives. The royals limiting their breeding would also set a good example.

I decided to bring zero into this world. Perhaps that evens out the numbers.
