I will remember him best as Captain James T Kirk on the Starship Enterprise.

It's a shame he couldn't have lived a few hundred more years, then we wouldn't have all the kerfuffle about who he really was and whether or not he wrote all that stuff. It's all much ado about nothing if you ask me.

I just wish he and Avicii had been able to find a common gap in their schedules for the long-rumoured musical.

Word on the streets is that Andrew Lloyd-Webber was pulling strings in the background to keep the two apart. Listen carefully enough and there is talk of AL-W working with the Russians to have Shakespeare's doorknob poisoned. Where there's smoke...

Much ado about nothing if you ask me, a Tempest in a teacup.
    Cheers..

I was a fan when he was still underground - not some johnny-come-lately like you lot.

PS can someone explain the joke?

Think it’s an error, rather than a comedy.

    Shocked, no age at all.

Always seemed a humble guy, chatted to him briefly only last week.

Nobody tells me anything. I didn't even know he'd been ill.

My thoughts are with the family - Anne, Romeo, Juliet and the others.

After hearing recently of the passing of Ernie Wise this is really sad news.

Who will write plays for the masses now? And what will Glenda Jackson do as regards Christmas specials?

Thespians all over the country will be feeling down this evening.

All rather appropriate as I can only describe my day so far as having been a comedy of errors.
