    1675 advice sought.

I’ve just seen this 1675 fresh from a Bill Rice service. It’s serial number dates it to 1977.

Can anyone see anything untoward? It looks like a replacement dial as the lume is whiter than the hands but I’m no expert.

Help please and please excuse the picture quality (shot with phone on zoom through a window!)

I stress that I’m no expert but if I were in the market I’d want as original as possible or not bother.
Plots look a bit too bright/ modern

From the ones I;ve looked at it's not unusual for dial/hands to age differently - they both look like Tritium at least though hard to tell for sure as out of focus. The dial plots do look sharp though.

I’d never even considered that as a possibility. Do you know when he’s back?

    Thanks

It’s not a good photo but I’ve no doubt the plots are tritium, just paler than the hands.

Thanks Brendan, I’ve just spoken to Bill who says it’s a good watch with original dial and hands.

Anyone any thoughts on pricing; it’s up for £8k from a dealer?

I’m guessing no box or other papers.

See what can happen if posts are written without first verifying concerns with the other party involved ?

For the sake of clarity, I’d just like to confirm that I had no reason to doubt that this watch is genuine and that it has just been serviced by Bill Rice. I also know the staff at the shop in question well and know that they would not be selling anything dishonestly.

My question was purely as to whether it looks to be all original of whether it appears to have any replacement parts.

I was not casting aspersions at anybody, least of all Bill Rice or the shop in question!

Are you now clear on that Brendan?

Don’t bother to reply or send me any pms, I really don’t care!

Looks like a nice example but some better pictures would clarify that. Looks to have the correct dial for 1977 and can I ask the first three of the serial?

    Hey Dave.
I've found that some phone pics lighten the plots if they're auto adjusting white balance.
Looks to be decent imo. The hands and plots do age at different rates so nothing alarming there.
8k is a good price so long as it's case is sharp.

    Thanks Celia.

It’s definitely looking like I need to get a closer look at it.

Nice watch from a great seller.......you should buy it quick before someone else beats you to it!!

Looks fine to me. For comparison, here's my 5.2M 1675 with the original dial and handset:

I didn’t get down there yesterday Celia. I’m undecided whether to have a good luck at it or just stick with the 16710.
