The Mrs watched something recently where he was in the USA? He looked really gaunt and unwell.
RIP.
Dead at 62 - that was quite a shock, both his passing and the fact he was 62 years old (I'm sure the majority of him was substantially younger).
He was a bit cheesy but I liked him. A couple of my mates went on Supermarket Sweep many years ago while at uni and said he was a blast on set, nothing like the character he played for the cameras basically.
No cause of death announced, but the fact he's been battling depression has been mentioned a fair bit, I really hope he's not another one gone that way. 😕😕😕
Apologies for the RIP thread, I know they rub some folk up the wrong way...

When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
I thought he was a blast on camera.
Wife liked to watch SS, harmless fun. RIP Dale.
Sad loss, he seemed like a very nice chap.

R.i.p Dale, IMO too young.
RIP Dale, read his Mum took her own life and his father died very young. Depression is a real evil.
I was quite sad to see this too, especially as he was essentially the same age as me. Ex-wife used to watch him and adore him, harmless stuff. Sad news indeed.
I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say he was a national treasure but.. in some respects he was. A terrible shame.
Although alot of his shows weren’t really to my taste, i have to admit he was an excellent presenter and seemed a decent witty guy. I was surprised that he wasn’t offered the Generation Game show i think he would have made an excellent job of that, maybe he was too ill to take it on. Have happy memories of watching Supermarket Sweep as a student. RIP Dale.
Real shame, seemed like a decent chap, used to love Supermarket Sweep. RIP.
RIP Dale.
Funniest scene with Dale Winton was in Gimme Gimme, a dream sequence with Kathy Burke where he was a straight man trying to shag her in a toilet...
Would not surprise me if this was the case and kind of hope it was. Show business like this isn't exactly rammed with 'talent' but these two are the antithesis of entertainment for me. Never had any qualms with DW, which, based on my opinion of most show biz presenters means he was doing a good job!
Played himself in the film train spotting .

Eddie Mair played a wonderful tribute to Dale by Steve Allen (LBC) on PM today. Dale came across as a hard working professional, and kind man RIP.
