    Rubber fans

I know some people recoil at the thought and some like me love it. I had never considered a Rolex sports on a rubber strap until a wrist injury meant the bracelets were uncomfortable for a while. I tried the deepsea on a rubber B and I was hooked. In fact I'd go so far as to say I'm an addict, with a photo to prove it.

I still like the rolex bracelets a lot and think they are some of the best out there, but I must say I'm enjoying a splash of colour, plus when kayaking and other active pursuits it gives me a more relaxed view on wearing a watch I may scratch up.

    Any other Rolex rubber fans?

I do like a black Everest on my Sub, it makes it stand out a little as I’ve two ‘drinking mates’ with subs as well. I do however find the buckle digs into my wrist so I do swap back every so often.

The Crafter Blue rubber strap is also highly recommended.

My Sub on an Everest and my Explorer on a £25 Cousins special. Love the bracelets but for general out and about wear I like the rubbers for comfort. They're also a bit more forgiving when your wrist size changes during the day, as mine does.

Always used to think of rubber as being a bit cheap! Always had leather or croc when feeling flush. Then I got Bell @ Ross BR02 on rubber and found it extremely comfortable and was won over. Now have rubber on the majority of my collection.

Rubber straps are brilliant. They make a sports watch look truly sporty, brilliant in the heat when sweaty, comfortable and for those who don’t like marking bracelets too much they are ideal for more vigorous use with a watch.

That Explorer II on the Cousins rubber looks way better than I thought it would. Those Rubber B's with the dash of colour are lovely though.

This week I have been trying my Explorer II with a rubber from Jean Rousseau, that utilises end links from an Everest leather strap.

I like all those Rolex on rubber, suits them so well.

That explore looks great, and I particularly like the seadweller on the black isofrane, very handsome.

So when does a nice rubber strap become available for the SD43?

  18. #18
The Cousins Sub straps also carry across to the SMP rather well. Slap on an OE buckle.... a rather excellent result IMO:

Don't know, they said early 2018 and I've been patiently waiting. My guess is just around the corner.

I think the DSSD on the Rubber B looks fantastic - but my goodness, they are expensive straps...

    Squinky's prices are always crazy

Here's one in France for less than £60 - that's a reasonable price.

The old Z series Seiko dive straps needed to be shaped first in a mug of hot water to be comfortable. The current dive straps issued on Propsex dive watches are superb.

    Super photos, thanks for sharing.

The Isofrane is such a classy strap in my opinion. Top quality too. I’ve had one for 2 years, worn on a variety of divers, and it looks as good as new.

I love that, what model is it if you don't mind me asking?

I find Seiko's vast range of watches VERY confusing when it comes to identifying something that I like the look of.

Thanks again. I contacted the seller about the length of the strap. 63 mm and 104 mm so too short for my wrist unfortunately. These do seem to be on the short side from previous searches so maybe not a viable option for me.
