Did it have some unique provenance?

    One of the earliest 1675s.

Exclamation point dial - look at 6 o’clock.

    Small 24hr hand.

    Pointed crown guards.

A chapter ring dial, one that some would call “tropical.”

It wouldn’t see anything like £85,000 of my money but it’s not the same as a common, later 1675 with white text dial.

Kind of explains why I haven't found a birth year watch yet.

No GMT made in 1947 I’m afraid, Ken.

As a vintage gmt owner, I don’t really like the look of that and wouldn’t swap even though mine is worth multiples less

Agreed. I’d go for Lee Fowler’s double Swiss / underline 1675 as the perfect sibling to my double Swiss / underline Submariner 5513.

Got me thinking just how much further prices can go - for other than the likes of an A list celebrity like Paul Newman...

the PN Daytona has become the billionaire hedge fund manager vintage Rolex of choice “the look at me I know my vintage watches” statement watch. I don’t quite see the gmt doing that but the 2018 Pepsi has certainly drawn more attention to the lineage

Oi cheeky, I couldn't believe it when I found out you were an ankle biter, you seem to have been around forever.

61' is a bit of a painful year for any decent watches, even the 2998 Speedmasters from the same year are the best part of £20k in decent condition.

I think Paul was right all along, it is a stupid concept.
