Chilling out with this 'rare' Seiko Marinemaster,
No 'x' on the dial here :-)
I do much prefer the more creamy lume of these 001's rather than 017's. This one is from 2001 so a very early one.
Nearly April and still having to put the log burner on, roll on spring.
Have a good holiday all (assuming you're not working of course).

Thanks. At 36.5 mm, just a bit small by today's standards and hence it will be leaving the 'stable' shortly. But, one of the most beautiful chronographs of all time IMHO

It is a telemeter scale...By means of the telemeter scale it is possible to measure the distance of a phenomenon which is both visible and audible. The chronograph hand is released at the instant the phenomenon is seen; it is stopped when the sound is heard, and its position on the scale shows at a glance the distance in kilometers or miles separating the phenomenon from the observer.

Hi, if memory serves, it is a Baume et Mercier Capeland - I had a version of the same watch for a while.

Yes you are correct Valjoux 7750 at the time it was new if cost the same as a submariner!

Thanks both. I like the look of it and noticed it has a similar look to the Tissot I posted earlier in the thread, even if the Baume et Mercier is a step up in quality.

My Tissot has an ETA 251.272 quartz movement which I think I read once was designed to match the form and function of the 7750. Perhaps someone at Tissot was ‘inspired’ by the B&M.

Thanks Cirotti and Caruso. Sounds a much more stylish (and accurate!) version of when you’re a kid counting between lightning and the thunder

I appear to be spending Easter in a connectivity-free zone - no real chance to get online yesterday.

    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

    The Friday watch thread.

100% original Record www Dirty Dozen. Just been fixed and serviced. It comes with a good story about the war and tears from a family member when it was sold but who knows what the real history is.

I just love these military watches. Thanks goes out to all that had them on their wrist in the war.

    A keeper for sure.
