Makes the big box Speedy Pro set look under nourished.

The point of these boxes is all about the experience. Where the speedy big box is pretty much exactly that, I find this truly stupendous.
Bravo Seiko.

If you paid extra for the "full-set" and one day, you find that a familiar-looking submarine in your kid's toy box...
What experience? It’s a watch in a box, how can having a huge elaborate box with a childs toy inside make getting the watch out an experience? It might appeal to a small kid, but surely not to a grown-up?
Nothing brave about selling a watch in a power tool case, it’s just a joke IMO. I’ll be getting my power drill out later today, I’ll savour the ‘experience’ more because it comes in a big box!
In the right context I like boxes. I have a staking set that’s probably as old as me and it’s all stored in a superb hardwood box, it’s a thing of beauty but it’s purely designed to be functional. I also have an old Jacot tool in its original case, and it is nice to see when the case is opened. I guess the watch manufacturers are attempting to tap into this......but it just looks contrived and silly!

Apple spend millions on designing the packaging for their products to make the experience of opening them for the first time & discovering the contents to be as sensually pleasurable as possible. Just the right feel on the cardboard coating, just the right amount of stiction as you slide the lid off an iPhone box. It doesn't stick, it sliiiiiides. Buyers love it.
I’m as cynical as the next chap, but find it hard to take a dim view of that. Frivolous and fun; there is a place in life for those things 😀
I could probably pack for a long weekend in a case that size :)
