    New Balance sizing?

I've just ordered a couple of pairs of New Balance 574s from the outlet section of their online store (£52 pair!) and am now worrying that I've ordered the wrong size. Predominantly I wear Nike in which I take a UK11 and as far as I'm concerned that is my default shoe size, however, I'm not convinced that these are going to fit - particularly after reading a couple of reviews.

If you wear New Balance how do they compare size wise to your other footwear?

I wear 9.5 in Nike and I wear 9.5 in New Balance. Normally wear the 576, but I dont think there is much difference in sizing on the models

Consistently half a size larger in NB than other shoes. I bought some 501s in the Flimby outlet recently, and a staff member mentioned that their sizes are a little smaller than some. Certainly been my experience. Hope that helps.

The 574 Sport are different, I had to go a half size bigger.

9.5 in those but 9 in all other New Balance

Should also add that the soles on the Sports are terribly slippery, to the extent I bought a pair for the wife and returned them in case she fell.

I’m a UK 11 and I’ve had those exact same NB shoes, fitted fine in an 11. I will add I’ve never found a pair of Nike wide enough to be comfortable so clearly we have differently shaped 11’s!

I've got a couple of pairs of the NB 420s and found that for the second pair sizing up a half size made them a bit more comfortable on the width.

Thanks for the replies, they haven't turned up yet so I can't report back but rest assured I will do when they finally arrive!

Definitely half size bigger for me too. I’m a 7 in Nike but 7.5 in NB. strangely an 8 in Adidas.

Love NBs now though after being primarily Adidas for 30 years.

Hopefully I'll get away with the UK11s because they didn't have them any bigger.

I had to order a size up in the 574`s I bought. I read the reviews on the NB website and most said order a size larger than your normal

I bought my first ever New Balance trainers just before Christmas after wearing nothing but adidas for 25 years. I've always bought a size up in adidas as they fit smaller than everything else so was unsure about NB.

After a bit of research I gambled on true size but the 670s were crippling and the 770s were a pinch too tight and too short. The new half size up 770s were spot on but I would have needed a whole size up in the 670s.

Like another poster on here i wear 576 and an 11 fits me perfectly.
The all leather model are as good a quality as you will find in a trainer.

Like a few of the others I find I have to go up half a size in NB.

Sorry only just seen your question. I had to get a size bigger. Got my normal size first but sent them back for the next size up. Trouble these days is that all the differant shoe and trainer manufacturers sizes seem to vary wildly. I dont know if it is a quality control issue, ie they get labled incorrectly or what, but buying clothes and footwear online is a bit of a minefield.

In an ideal world I would much prefer to visit a shop and try things on before purchase. But when you see a good deal online it is easy to order several differant sizes and return the ones you do not want for free from most reputable compnies

I’m normally an 8 (in Clarks/Red Wing/Cheaney). With my pair of 990v4 I wear a UK 8.5. I was the same with the 990v3 before that.

I think ordering shoes online is best avoided , always best to try them on for fit and comfort. If you find a shoes you really like it’s worth buying a second pair immediately whilst they’re available, and doing this from an on online supplier can save money.

Two things I’d never buy online, that’s shoes and varifocal glasses. I can’t stand the grief and hassle of sending stuff back when it isn’t right, and these two items really need to fit correctly!

Well all 3 pairs arrived this morning and I'm just about to tape the box back up having called NB to request a returns label; I can't fault them on their free returns policy - I'll drop the parcel off at my local UPS Access Point on the way to work later, couldn't be easier!

As expected, having read the replies here and a number of reviews elsewhere including on the NB website, they were too tight and I'll be going half a size up. I had to order them because at the price it was worth taking a chance particularly as they were right up my street colourway wise, but alas it wasn't to be.

In a way I see it as a bit of guerilla marketing on NB's part as I'm just about to order another 3 pairs at full price!

New Balance are superb and I wear nothing else. Like others I buy a size bigger for foot expansion whilst exercising and I buy 2E width as I have G or H width feet and they fit like a glove.

Having found the right shoe years ago in running shops I have ordered about 20 pairs on line now without any problems at all. I do tend to stick to the same number 1260 and have probably owned every version. Version 7 are on my feet as we speak.

When I started to buy NB about 18 years ago they were quite specialist and you would only get them in running shops etc, but they seem to have taken over the world now. My lad did remark "you were wearing those when no one had heard of them".

The advice always for a first serious pair is to go to a running shop, have your feet checked for size, width and gait as you run. Once you find your perfect shoe stick with it - then you can order on line. The trick is to order the version that has just been replaced, I have had them at half price before.

I wear NBs in half a size above a proper shoe and Adidas a whole size above (sometimes half).

Managed to order a couple more pairs from the outlet section in the next size up (UK11.5), strange that the next size after that seems to be UK12.5 no mention of UK12. The discount on them was even better so despite ordering 1 pair at full price it has still come in at a tenner under the total of the last one.

Hopefully they will arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed they fit!
