Done. My daughter starts secondary school this year too, she's 11 next month. She's an only child too, and she's gone to a beautiful little 'country' primary school. The secondary she's going to has a reputation as being a little rougher round the edges, and I think she'll be in for a little bit of a 'culture shock'. However, it's the one she wanted to go to and the majority of her friends are going to.
I'd like to think I can imagine how it must feel for you, best of luck and I hope it all goes well.

Our boy is only in reception but I can imagine how upset your daughter is. Expecting an 11 yo to commute for an hour a day is preposterous irrespective of the software issues.

Have you spoken directly with the head of the desired school, they do have some power to bed rules.
