No love for the new root beer GMT?

Looks good in the pics, would need to see the bezel in the ceramic though. Photos don’t really capture how the colour changes in the light.

Would look great on an oyster flex too.

...126711? I’m certainly interested. The everose/ brown YM has been calling a while. This steps the game up....for me at least.

I like it, but then I have a Nipple Dial Rootbeer, so hardly objective.

I like it too but still prefer the BLRO. Especially with the new blue dial.

I think it looks great. I agree that it would also look good with an oysterflex (or Everest/RubberB).

Another alternative to tone it down would be to put it on the bracelet from an SS SubC.

It's one that definitely has to be seen in the hand - the pictures don't leave a good impression. I'm waiting for Hodinkee or some other blog to get a hands on video and see what it's like properly.

    Nevertheless, I don't think it's for me.

Meh. I wouldn't pay £1.5k over the odds for this one.

It's rather Rolex coffee, not root beer

  18. #18
I'm not entirely sure but i thought root beer should have a brown dial and this is black? Can someone enlighten me?

I wouldn't call this a root beer...but it's a nice watch with a touch of elegance when it's fitted with a bi-metal. I suspect a brown dial version will be produced in the near future.

    Cheers

Yes, should have been a brown dial and jubilee bracelet!

I, too, personally think that a brown dial will be great. Have to try the watch on the wrist to really know though..

I think it's only us lot that have given it the Root Beer tag?

If the all gold one is as nice in the flesh as it is in the pictures then I'm afaid it might be bye bye to the DD40...

I was just thinking the same, it’s crying out for the jubilee bracelet.

I quite like it but the new case designs totally killed my love for Rolex... I would take the older Rootbeer over the new one anyday...

a brown dial would've made it so much more appealing to me. It's lovely though.

Since it's only halfway to being a Root Beer, I did a Google image search for Black Brown and Gold, for alternative possibilities - and it gave me Louis Vuitton handbags.

No love for the new root beer GMT?

I love it and much prefer it to the Pepsi. I think though that my chances of bagging one from an AD are close to zero...

I'd call it dog shit brown. Rolex lovers love a nickname so I nominate the Turd Master.

I don’t know, in WoS Royal Exchange today they hadn’t had much interest and had taken three names I think...they had stopped taking names for the pepsi yesterday!

Looks hideous to me in renders - but maybe it'll be better on one's wrist.

I like it, especially in solid gold form. The all gold version is a bit too expensive for a niche watch, for me, but the TT will get a serious look when it shows up in stores.

Its a turd. They violated the heritage by using that awful pink everose crap. Should have been yellow gold of course like the classic version.

I wonder, did Michael Kors deliberately choose an Everose shade for their RG plating, or is it just a coincidence?

    You mean this one

The new GMT on this thread still seems to keep the ‘box’ shoulders. Much prefer the revised case style on the steel GMT Pepsi.

The GMT line does seem a bit disjointed now.

I think it is a shame for the two tone and the yacht master.

I quite like the chocolate colour but previous two tone model colour combo's have put me off

I want to like it, but the brown is just too brown for me (and I drive a 'brown' car!).

I would prefer this new incarnation with an all black bezel. Roll on a rose gold sub..... TT or solid.

I'm not sure that RG complements the overall colour scheme very well, but i appear to be in the minority.

Having looked at just about all the pictures of this I can find, I am surprised at myself, but I love it. Its the first rg watch that this has been the case with.
Pre Basel I thought a Pepsi would have been the one, but on a jubilee it just doesn't seem right to me.
It will be interesting to see how this new Root Beer sells, in a couple of years it could be a good second hand buy.
