Breitling news: Navitimer yes, chrono no

Here's the new offer from Breitling: https://monochrome-watches.com/breit...ld-2018-price/

Not quite sure what to make of it...

What next, Rolex bringing out a Submariner with no water resistance?

That ball edged bezel is a bit manky.

    Mmmmmmm..... I'm not convinced.

I thought this may a little more interesting but in titanium and 46mm across the case excluding crown, 50mm across the bezel and only 30m WR, I'm not convinced about this one either:

As someone said - be careful what you wish for.

    Smaller (38mm) - tick
    Less busy face - tick
    Cheaper - £3K MRP at today's x-rate (not £5-6K current) - tick
Back to it's roots (apparently) - tick

But still - doesn't tick my 'must-have' list

That baton dial is bit plain but ok, would have been more acceptable if Breitling retained the current coin edge bezel from Navitimer chrono rather than beads of rice bezel edge.

This is nice! If they'd shed the CHRONOMETER on the dial it'd be even better.

The three handed Navitimer is just wrong.

Edit. Seems the post I quoted has been deleted

I like it, didn't expect to when opening the link and I don't like it enough to ever pay for a new one but I would certainly wear it over most other things.

I like it too, especially the blue and cream dial. The size is also very attractive, although that bezel would take getting used to.

Interesting new direction for the brand, let’s see where it all goes.

I like it. Wouldn't buy it... but the rest of the new range look much worse.

Much as I like the idea of Breitling I cannot quite grasp the reality. Even my 1960’s Navitimer is a disappointment.

I don’t agree on the “three handed navi being wrong” statement.. the way I look at it, they kept the original navi design, with improvement actually to the movement, which is good, since you get that vintage classic design with modern performance.. and then they added this new version, which is aimed to a totally different market.. some say they should have called it something else, but I disagree based on the fact that this new watch was designed with the old in mind, therefore they’re trying to test a new route without leaving behind the original concept. I honestly praise them for what they’re doing.
