Too late Tony. I heard Vulvaman just bought it for his cleaner.

Other possibilities are a 991.2 Targa GTS4 (too safe), AMG GT Roadster (too brash), AM V12 Vanquish (a bit lardy). Not sure what else.
Sounds like a California is a good option then, I know a fair few people who have had one or still have one.

Never heard them say anything negative about them, all positive, my friend moved to a 458 and preferred it as it was more of an event for him.

Not sure what else I would suggest, may be a Maserati but although they sound nice, I am not sure I would choose one over a California.

Enjoy your car when you get it, life is about experience, so have fun.

    My neighbour has one.

He’s nearly 60, with highlighted, gelled up hair and wears a Jacob & Co.

So, a role model for you, Andy? Nicer than a German NBR wannabe.

Ferrari, Graff, RM, Hermès etc there will be a lot of crims, chavs and all sort of jumped up little and not so sh1ts wearing/using their products, however why deny yourself a pleasure of owning a quality product becasue of the scum? If you can afford it, go for it and enjoy

She gets a taxi on our account, at least I earn my money through hard work rather than ripping other members off.

    On a lighter note.

My pagani Huayra is nearly ready (I'll start a build thread to bore you all with)

Should I spec the Unicorn or Wookie leather hide for the interior?

I found the Wookie leather to get very hot and also difficult to clean

Unicorn is the way forwards or look at TRex if you need a finish that is more durable

On a more serious note, the California is generally looked down upon by other Ferrari owners, probably because it is too US influenced. Until the latest model they weren't super fast, didn't handle too well (comparatively), were stratospherically expensive to maintain and run, and didn't hold their value. Ownership seemed to be limited to Golf Club types and Estate Agents, rather than true Ferrari enthusiasts - think Swiss Tony rather than Seb Vettel.

Would I have one - of course, because a Ferrari is like a beautiful woman....................................

    A lady neighbour has one
Also owns a vantage and a c63 estate as her runabout
She takes it to a once yearly car show, spoke to her last summer about it and she described it as lovely but horrendously expensive to run
    “There’s always something “
    It’s done 9000 miles
Ps she has a nice green dialled Daytona on a green lizard strap that looks amazing on her🤗

Drove an early one in Paris on one of those rent-a-ride set ups. The bloke was not complementary about its general durability and related repair and maintenance costs. Very nice thing to drive if you’re not after the rawness of the two seater v8s and I’d certainly consider one. There’s a brand new one (whatever they’re called now) popped up near me recently but in Rosso which it doesn’t suit imo.

Talking of Ruf, one of my lasting memories of avidly reading car mags in the late 80s was reading about a Ruf 911 in bright yellow, possibly in Performance car magazine, it really captivated me, lots of tyre smoke stills etc, I recently found a video on YouTube of the same car smoking around the ring, must have been the same car and where the shots were done, really made me smile after all those years, I was watching with my 11 year old and he was just as enthralled as I was, which was nice.

Ruf CTR, quite the legendary machine. I visited Ruf at the end of 2016, it was an excellent visit and my cousin & I thoroughly enjoyed it. Managed to speak to Alois too, he was quite interested in our trip and where we'd come from and were going to.

That’s the one, the stats were impressive then and I sure still are, watching the video shows how basic they were, the long throw gearstick, minimal instruments etc. Like watches, would prefer vintage to newer stuff!

The 720 is very different IME to the 650. Its a great car (I do like the 650 but the 720s is something else). On the road amazing, on the track breath taking. So fast.
