Thread: Strap buying spree

    Strap buying spree

I feel my watch collection has stabilised recently (in other words, I’ve no more money to spend on watches) so I went on a strap buying spree today, with more to come:

    Uncle Seiko waffle
    Zuludiver 284
    Zuludiver 306
    Zuludiver US Type Bond Nato
    Strapcode Miltat Velcro
    Hirsch Robby

I still want a Phenomenato in 20mm (currently out of stock), one of Eddie’s 2 piece nylons with deployant (not taking orders until next week), and a Red Rock Straps canvas, the colour of which I’m mulling over carefully.

I’m also tempted by a Steveo strap, having seen the positive feedback and pics in another thread.

My wife once compared straps to shoes for watches... why not!

I’ll post some photos and quick impressions when I start receiving them.

    First ones are here.

    ZuluDiver 306:

(+) good quality rubber, nice smell
(-) too thick, doesn’t sit well on the wrist or between the lugs.
    Verdict: disappointed

    ZuluDiver 284:

(+) supple, not too thick, love the flat vents
(-) a tad too long for my wrist (6.75”) and I probably should have gone for black
    Verdict: I like it

    Hirsch Robby

    (+) build quality, comfort, looks
    (-) too much red
    Verdict: awesome strap, love it

ZuluDiver US Type NATO Vintage Bond

(+) easier to wear than a standard NATO, great colours
    (-) just another nylon
    Verdict: cool but not special

    Thanks for looking!
