    It's snowing... again...

It was forecasted... since 3PM (local time) the snow is falling again. Later this evening the temp will drop and tomorrow, the world will be white again, I reckon. The coldest 16th (and probably the 17th) of March ever recorded here...

I had a lazy day at home so decided to go for a bike ride as tomorrow it’s going to be -2 and snowing.
I was overdressed in 2 layers and sweating, I took a pic of a bumble bee on some flowers and watched a skylark hovering and singing high over a field, so spring has sprung.
    For now.....

Dull, damp and drizzly here. Cold easterly wind too. I'd rather have snow than this miserable weather!
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

Been the nicest day this week here.
Relatively sunny and 7C, although -2C with the wind chill.

I’ve been clearing out my shed [first one I’ve ever had] and assembling racking for it in a tee shirt in the sun.
Then at 4pm I sat on my garden bench still in my tee shirt still sunny having a cup of tea.
Looking forward to my first summer owning a garden to sit in,simple pleasures.

Shorts and flip flops today. Hallelujah. Plenty of warm sunshine and no wind. I'm refusing to believe the weather forecast from tomorrow onwards!

Ha! So I timed my trip better than I thought then :-)

Sorry to hear that Menno, take care and keep warm.

Why do I think that NL will cope better than the U.K.?

The car said it was 13C in Whitstable today, even by UK standards, a 13 degree drop over night seems crazy.

Earlier in the month I started work at 0615, and it was -8C
When I finished at 1300, the temperature had swung up to +7C.
The UK can truly be incredible

Beautiful day today. I just can’t believe it’s going to change that drastically overnight. I think they’ve got it wrong. Again.

Nope, the only difference is that the drops are falling on the RH side of the road to keep in synch with the traffic... I am off to the Southwesternmost part of the county (Flushing) tomorrow. Can become an interesting trip with snow on the ground. Oh, well, still the correct rubber on the wheels and 4WD.

It's +10c here in sub-tropical Hampshire at the moment, but we've been warned to expect 10cm of snow over the next 24 hours, so I'm not taking any chances and I'll be staying in and watching events unfold as we enter the next ice age.

The country will, of course, grind to a halt and TV reporters will be sent out to stand in the snow and tell us that it's snowing and we shouldn't make any non-urgent journeys.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Quantity and duration of snow seems to have been pushed well back in our forecast (West Midlands) - I was expecting snow most of the night but woke up to an admittedly cold but grey morning without a single snow flake. Now saying it will snow a bit this afternoon but nothing like what was forecast.. so I guess we will see!

Things are more or less the same here now. White snowy edges along the curbstones, and snow on the cars' windshields. In all, less snow than I'd expected. I went to the bakery a few minutes ago (2 min by bike). It felt like I was frozen stuck to the shifters of the bike. Blustering wind from the east (15 - 18 knots) makes it even colder...

Heavy snow falling in SW London at the mo.

I though it was a BS when I was driving home in the 11degC sunshine yesterday evening.

Despite living close to the southern edge of Europe there was a hail storm yesterday evening and another one this morning.
The cold front has lowered the snow line and we will see white again.
´Rain´ forecasted for another week, for today with yellow alert so put the sandbags against the doors again.

It looks as if the blustering wind has driven the snow over the Northsea to the UK. Here in the east, where I live, the snow only produced what I wrote this morning. My trip to Flushing (or better: halfway Flushing and Antwerp) was 'decorated' with snow when I reached the western coastline! That's really odd, because it's not common to find snow in the west and no snow in the east.

The whole trip (475 kms round trip), the dash thermometer showed outside temps under zero: -3 for most of the trip.

    Oh well...

Braved a round of a golf today but only made it through nine holes. Bitterly cold and a biting wind. I’m only just north of London!

I’m sick of winter now. Come on spring!

The weather is the result of too many times "...Winter is Coming...". It has become a mantra and we're now paying the price! Time for a new mantra!

My day began in Malta where spring has definitely sprung as it was too warm to wear a heavy tweed jacket to the airport. That jacket felt inadequate when I arrived at Gatwick and SE London is snowy and pretty nippy.

Sun's back here. Still, a lot of eastern (=cold!) wind. In the newspaper this morning a headline that March 17 was the coldest in history. Only after midday tomorrow, things will start to change... Forecast for next Saturday: 14C.

Plenty of snow for everyone in Bath, and still falling. Unfortunately I'm supposed to be heading out to the Rugby later this morning. Not sure that's going to happen......

Weather had just got nice and warm and then we get this ruddy snow.

I hate it and it makes Dot's nose go pink!

    Cheers,

A white EBT in the snow... I think she needs a cosy blanket on her back!

    M.

EDIT: Yvette (my wife) would have picked a blue & pink blanket for her. Smitten as she is with Dot (and EBTs in general)

Dot's not keen on a coat TBH Menno, we've tried.

She's even got a little waterproof cagoule for when it rains but she still won't go out in it!

More like my rottweiler when I was a teenager: he hated rain. Not snow! He was happy in the snow. Funny thing is that a rottweiler's fur starts growing when the temps drop! Mine had curly hair during the winter months.

I think most dogs like snow but EBT's and rain is another story...........
