Wasn’t a bad idea at least the hands got reset, look how off they were originally. Hour hand is saying circa ten last 6!
Years ago I sold a Time Factors orange faced watch and always regretted it. So I thought I'd buy another orange faced sports watch and this time went for a Seiko SKX011. Great watch, but I didn't like the hands (gold edged where the hour markers are black edged and a little fussy) and the strap was uncomfortable (a common issue with these apparently).
After a little advice from the good people of this forum, black edged (and less fussy) hands were sourced from Dagaz Watch Limited, and a black Nato strap with satin finished metalwork from Watchgekko. The whole lot went off to Olivier Chambert http://onatelier.co.uk/ on Tuesday and I got it back today! Super fast turn-around.
A couple of before and after pics.

I meant to mention that and you're dead right (in fact that's actually why I took that photo). I asked for the hands to be reset at the same time - that would really have irritated me!
you could even try a white/silver numbers bezel insert from the SKX013
Thank you very much for the post Nick. The new hand design works really well with this model, a very nice, subtle mod. And I am pleased to say correct hand setting comes as part of the service :)
Dodgy QC on Seiko’s part here assuming the watch had never been touched before.
It came direct from Creation Watches so I can't imagine it would have been messed about with.
My slightly less gentle mod to the same watch...
What a massive improvement. both the colour and the shape of the hands are far more suited to the dial.
Same watch but with a black face surely?
That's interesting. Mine's an SKX011 - is that the same size as the 013 or the 007?
Cool, thanks!
The gold hands definitely put me off this model... Mind you, they kind of match with something.
