The old Milgauss never appealed, but if there is anything close to the mock up below I'll be straight down to Preston's.

For me I just don't quite see the appeal of that design on a Rolex Professional watch just yet. I know the Jubilee seems popular with watch enthusiasts but whilst it is, of course, a classic the Oyster bracelet just looks more in keeping with a Sports biased watch design. IF they show that this week at Basel I hope there is at least an option for an Oyster bracelet but suspect not.....

I see a Jubilee bracelet and just see an old persons watch, albeit classy/classic etc.
If I was looking at a GMT and all were available from an AD, I wonder how many would choose an jubilee over the oyster.

The bezel completely transforms the Milgauss from a meh to a yeah!

I know it is only a mock up but why choose those numbers on the bezel?

i fee there are going to be lots of disappointed rolex fans, lots of expectation but it wouldn’t surprise me if there is just an extra colour dial for the datejust and a bejewelled cellini for the ladies. i’m amazed that people will get so excited about the possibility of a bezel in a different colour?!?

i guess if you treat them like Pokemon anything new is exciting

    "gotta catch em all” LOL

Or, to my eyes, from a no to an absolutely-poke-my-eyes-out NO!

That's the whole point. When you have 10 similar looking oyster case watches with an oyster bracelet, the Jubilee is a nice change of pace.

    It mimics a historical reference.

I think that I would. I’d probably want an oyster for it too though!

    Is this a modded Fortis?

No, you missed my point.....it's only a "nice change" IF you like it and IF it works for a Professional watch in your own eyes. For me, it doesn't but if you like it that's fine of course.

It’s also super comfortable. The GMT was always a sort of white collar professional watch so it makes sense to me.

Fifteen years ago the least popular SS gmt2 was the jubilee Pepsi version. You’re definitely not alone in your feelings, despite the forum hype.

Think the jubilee looks ok on the Datejust watches but not a good look on the gmt

    Regarding BaselWorld, what's the process?

Do they announce all their new models on day one? Or one per day? Or do different brands do different things?

Hit F5 at 12:01 GMT tomorrow and all rolex novelties are there. The only stuff that surface the following days is usually new dials and special gem set watches etc.

I for one do not care about functionality as long as it looks good and tells the time.

But there must be a significance of a 2 where the 4 should be, a 3 where the 6 should be etc.
Almost like a GMT bezel in reverse

    20, 30, 40, 50? Just lacking the 0. I agree that it's somewhat perplexing.

Isn't it simply a 60 minute bezel, like on nearly all dive watches - with just a slightly unusual presentation?

The original Triton Spirotechnique and the modern remake have something similar.

Nice dress watch. Shame it’s got a date function.

Yes good thinking - that must be it (although I don’t like it) :)

Agreed. And I don't like the font used on the zeros in the image you quoted either!

A Pepsi GMT in steel with the discontinuation of the WG model would be nice.

Thanks, was scrolling through this thread to see if anyone knew the Rolex release time!

And keep an eye on their website and Instgram feed too.

IIRC you might not need to wait until Noon but i'm not 100% on that.....

I think that's nice, the date window's OK for me, but it'll be far too big for my taste. I don`t like the 'rotot self-winding' script, it would look OK on a vintage watch but not on a new one, it's about as naff as putting 'turbo' on the back of a car in 2018!

I like a lot of things about this watch. The bezel, the red sweep hand, the panda dial...I like them all, but it doesn't come together overall as something I'd want to buy. It may be that the black chapter ring is a bit too much.
