What do you wear your SKX009/007 on?

I received my 009 through the post yesterday and whilst I was pleasantly surprised by the stock Jubilee Bracelet I had already purchased a few aftermarket replacement Straps having heard the standard Jubilee was quite flimsy.

So I ordered a Tropic style rubber along with two nylon Straps, second nylon should turn up today, so I fitted this Olive green coloured strap this morning that has Kevlar embossed on the inside on the tan leather.

What a job getting those Seiko spring bars out when fitted to the bracelet, anyway they are out and new strap is on, what do You wear on your skx and what do you think of my combo?

I'm quite obsessive when it comes to finding The strap for each watch, and this is the one for my SKX007:

I still wear my 007 on the rubber strap it came on, which is surprisingly decent. I'm not a huge fan of canvas style straps. I'm thinking I might put it on a leather NATO, something like this

Personally think that's a great look for it.

I’ve got both the 007 and 009 on their original jubilee bracelets.

But I haven’t actually worn either of them

    I've tried all sorts.

The stock jubilee is indeed fine, and incredibly comfortable, if you like the look.

    Looks great with NATOs.

However, for me the watch never looks better then on the (slightly uncomfortable) original rubber.

I put my 009 straight onto a Strapcode Super oyster (22mm taper to 20mm, large clasp, SEL's, screw links) as I prefer bracelets. It's very solid and well fitted and lifts the feel of the watch. I first saw this combo on one of LTF's posts and had to try one.I would suggest that bang for buck it's hard to beat.

I remember buying a 007 on the stock rubber and found it very uncomfortable, then put a strapcode jubilee on and found that great, but I wanted to keep this Watch lightweight but durable hence looking down the nylon route, I never liked nato straps due that bulk of access strap on the side

Perfect on the jubilee no need to change for any thing else

I have a 009 that I wear on the standard jubilee bracelet. I quite like older, lighter bracelets. I never understand why in reviews/posts people refer to it as rubbish/cheap; I can't fault it, other than to say the clasp doesn't have an 'easylink' or a diver's extension - but what does for the same price?

What do you wear your SKX009/007 on?

My 009 is now long gone, but when I bought it I found the standard jubilee a bit rattly and cheap, while the Z22 rubber strap was apparently designed by Torquemada! My solution was also to put it on a Strapcode Superoyster - a fantastic bracelet for the money and a real step up from the standard offering.

Interesting comments about the stock rubber strap. I bought a SKX011 recently with a rubber strap and I find it rotates around my wrist until the watch head is almost 90 degrees from where it should be. I think it's the very thick part that holds the loose end of the strap (not sure what it's called - the guide?) causing it.

I've ordered a black Nato with satin metalwork for it.

Mine lives on a blue and white Nato.

Stock jubilee is my favourite bracelet bar none: Classy, light, tough. Awesome balance of qualities.

I have another 150 straps and bracelets but this remains my top.

If it goes back on it's staying on, what a pig to remove, I would class myself as a reasonably seasoned strap/bracelet changer and I struggled removing this one.

I removed the stock jubilee and replaced with a strap code super oyster as soon as I got the watch, due to reading about the 'cheap' feeling of it.

However after reading this thread I think I'll be changing over today to give it a chance!

    The keeper.

I really like the rubber strap it comes with. Wasn't expecting to but was pleasantly surprised by it. Only slight drawback is the length - I don't have the biggest if wrists and the tongue of the strap sticks out quite a bit.

Can you not just spread the movable keeper across more?

I'm the other way round, most straps can be on the small side for me, but the Seiko rubber ones are ok

Thanks for posting the pics of your skx combos, strap No2 arrived through the post this morning, it's from geckota and I think this one complements the Watch a lot better

Not really, I have it as far round as it'll go before it gets to the bumpy expandable bit but the tongue still sticks out a bit.

Mine came on the original rubber and after trying a bunch of NATOs and other assorted options, I sourced an original jubilee from eBay. It's chintzy, cheap, but works the best in my eyes.

    This.

Although, I'm wearing mine as I type on a Casio black rubber strap. It is amazingly comfortable, and I think it's because it is very thin and supple. Just lovely. However, when I want a change of look, the Seiko jubilee is light and moulds around your wrist, making it a pleasure to wear.

Oh, and the second strap looks much nicer than the first.

How comfortable is it? Is it waterproof?

Thanks, it's still very stiff and needs breaking in really, the first one was a tad comfier out of the packet though

As for waterproof, the first strap has a soft tan leather that looks like it would absorb moisture I lot more, where as the second has a shiny black coated leather

I think the second would stand up to sweat and a splash of water better, but I wouldn't class either as waterproof

The best ever bracelet for me was a WJean 22/18 tapered Super Oyster. The end links were superb, the bracelet plenty of taper.

My favourite is a black perlon for the 07k.
I also have strapcode oyster and jubilee with the jubilee being my favourite.

The stock jubilee is comfortable but seems likely to bend at the bar end and fall off (Metal is too bendy and thin)

Another one with a Strapcode Oyster here. The standard jubilee is very comfortable but just looks like the wrong style of bracelet for a dive watch to me.

Mine came on a rubber strap that didn't fit my wrist very well. I went with a NATO from crown and buckle.

That's the one but I suggest you take a look at the one with the adjustable clasp; it's the work of a genius.

Mines back on the stock jubilee for now, those pics look incredible and that adjustable clasp does look a work of art

I did fit a strapcode jubilee to a 007j some years back and was very impressed so imagine the oysters good too, oh, also had a strapcode super engineer and that was quite a substantial thing too

Mines on one of W. Jeans super oysters, not worn it in a while time keeping was poor the last time I wore it, it would cost more to service than I paid for it, ah well.

I have another 007, unworn example on its original jubilee.

These watches take almost anything. I have a 007 on rubber and later bought a 009 on stock jubilee. Really love the rattly stock jubilee as its very comfortable (all the moving parts) for a bracelet and gives a vintage vibe. Also bought NATO’s in all colours of the rainbow. Olive green works nicely on the 007.
