    I do and it is.
I have no great connection to the #70 (or any other number) if you do and want to swap.

That a very generous offer and much appreciated (love this forum)
I am hoping I may have secured my Son's birthday year so once I get the watch and try, I may take you up on the offer if still available (swap for another that is )
    Thanks again

Got the buckle from Amazon but here's Archer's website: https://archerwatchstraps.com/collections/accessories

Another good place - and where I usually buy my PVD buckles - is Watchobsession.

    PRS-18Q COSC appreciation thread...

Timefactors are 'drowned' in orders again for the PRS-18Q....Delighted for Timefactors that this watch is so successful!
I wonder is the MOD watching? This is a serious Military watch.
On that? (please don't shoot me down).....will this or should this this get picked up on Military contracts.....like the 'Marathon' contracts?

I do remember Eddie once saying that the original PRS-18Q had been dispatched to a special forces base in the UK. That always made it good enough for me – I think its great that he got a NATO stock number for the 18.

Actually, I also remember someone commenting that he'd bought one for his nephew who was serving in submarines. Thats always seemed a very fitting watch to have on the wrist for that young man.

Not bought a new watch for a while but it's pay day tomorrow and annual bonus time too. Think I might treat myself!

    Father & Son

    Dear All,

    First post here.

Having bought my first PRS -18Q COSC and been impressed, especially with timekeeping @ < I second fast over precisely one week (time.is), I bought one for my son (35) too as an upcoming birthday present.

Let's hope that these things are robust and meet our expectations over time. Enjoy!

    Thank you Eddie.

    bezel snags

the bezel edge is pretty sharp, I've snagged it on 3 shirt/jacket cuffs already. gonna pull out some sandpaper and have a go at easing that sharp edge.

You’ll leave shiny silver metal, and the rest of the watch will be beat blasted grey.

Would strongly advise a re think

Well mine came today and I love it.
Was a little worried it would be too small but it's spot on.
Ive not been right bothered over a quartz watch but this has change my mind.
A bit of strap hunting now I think, any good shots of some suggestions ?

I like the strap it came on. I’ve ordered a braided nato from Timefactors, that should be interesting.

Same here, the fitted strap is great but fancy a few to mix it up a bit.

Outstanding choice of movement in these watches.

Been wearing mine now over a week and it’s still +/- 0 secs.

Absolutely spot on! I could not be happier!

Far superior accuracy to what I experienced with my X-33 and Z-33 Omegas!

    Regards

I’ve been wearing mine non stop since it arrived, which is about the longest I’ve worn a quartz watch for quite a few years. Nine years in fact.

I’m even warming to the smaller digits. The lack of lume compared to the previous 18A is a shame.

I'm loving mine. I also have an original 18Q and I am intrigued by the slight differences. Out of curiosity I took a couple of comparison shots which surprised me. The case shape is quite different.

I took the side-by-side shot as two images from as near to the same angle as I could and spliced them. Aside from the dial differences, the case shape from above is quite similar if not identical, but the crown on the COSC is slightly smaller and sits more neatly in the housing to my eye. Despite the lighting in the photos, the COSC is actually only slightly darker in colour.

The COSC is the top of the two on the side view - the difference in profiles is quite evident.

Incidentally, I must be lucky as I set them to the same time 2 days ago and they're both spot on still. (NB. The photos were taken seconds apart!)

Uh oh! I think mine has a problem.
Timing has been spot on up to now but I've just checked it and it's lost an hour!

What a coincidence! Exactly the same thing has happened to one of my watches and several of my wife’s watches!

So I have the old PRS18q but am intrigued by this. Here is a question for those who have both or the automatic: do they appear the same size on your wrist? I know the font changed to to dial and the bezel and the slight shape changes, but do they seem essentially the same size? Also, in the flesh, is the new bead blasted finish a touch darker?

The old 18q was probably my gateway drug to nicer watches and I never thought I would get rid of it, but I would possibly flip it for this upgrade.

In my opinion the previous 18 is the nicer watch and I’ll tell you why:
    - blasting on the new one is darker
    - slight case shape differences on the new one made it wear a tad smaller
    - the smaller numbers are too small
    - the new bezel grooves are too sharp
    - new bezel has too much lateral play

However the new hands are better.

    It’s all about opinions though.

Re. the bezel, I've had 2 of the cosc versions (sellers remorse!). The bezel on the one I sold was perfect, no play at all. The one I'm wearing now is awful, stiff, gritty, loads of play.

For the money it's a cracking watch, lume is the only negative. The dial is fine, but the hands and pip are really dull (even freshly charged up).

    Agree with most of that:

Blasting slightly darker, though getting used to it and don't see it necessarily as a negative
Case shape/size, yes slightly different, though neither here or there to me.
My biggest beef is the bezel, the grooves are definitely sharper and lateral play of bezel definitely inferior to my older 18A which was rock solid.

Really enjoying mine. My first Timefactors and I'm really impressed. I think the build is spot on, this is one solid watch. You know when you are grabbing that bezel and that is how it should be.
I like the different tones of the colour's and the NATO is 1st class. Superb vfm I think.

There are a few cricketers over here who will be able to assist you with that. No doubt there'll be a few tears though.

How about a show & tell, post easing of the sharp edges?

Wow, to my eye that's the best strap for this particular watch, looks great.

Is that a Hirsch Pure? I’ve just got one of those but in black, currently on my 18A.

I need to replace the buckle though, it’s polished, which doesn’t match the watch at all.

I love these Ralphy and have been after one for ages but never seem to be able to order one from Carl as I keep missing the five minute a month window he’s open.
