I dont like the ticking sound at night. So have been looking for a wall clock without the seconds ticking hand. Cant find one.
They do sell the supposedly silent sweep battery operated ones but it usually has a grinding sound too.
So do they make only 3 handed quartz clock movements?

That took all of ten seconds to Google.
A whole bunch at John Lewis.

I bought a quartz clock for the kitchen from Lidl (Auriol).. £20 I think. The second hand sweeps smoothly (very silent) and is also very accurate. Might be worth waiting for them to come on sale.
I am waiting for this one to arrive the ticking drives me crazy as well.

I have a couple of silent sweep clocks, one of which started being not silent after a year or so, so that's a 50% silent success rate.
I also have a couple of clocks without second hands, and they still tick. So be aware that looking for one without a second hand isn't going to guarantee no ticking.
I have this one, which claims to be silent and IS.... except when it gets to 1.55am and the hands reset ready for the radio controlled impulse to synchronise the time. If you're a very light sleeper that may wake you but unless I'm awake then, I don't hear it. If I am, it's normally a signal to me to go to sleep!
PS only guaranteed way of non-ticking is digital, which brings issues of light dimming etc.
We have two Mondaine wall clocks in the house and they are silent.
We've got a cheap clock in the kitchen that sweeps silently.
No need to put up with the ticking.

Got a green/white Seiko wall clock in my kitchen.
This one.
No ticking or grinding sound and looks really nice.
Replaced an old watch where I replaced the movement with a silent one bought at about 10€ on ebay.
This one was grinding.
The seiko is a level above.
